Idyllic!!
We just loved our stay! The house itself is so so beautiful, from the quaint decor, to the clifftop view. The town is simply magical, the people inviting and friendly. There's tons to do, biking, hiking, whale watching, fishing, kayaking or taking a cool dip in the ocean! Our entire experience was perfect!

A Great Place To Stay
Some people say things always look better on photos... in this case reality is just as beautiful.
When we arrived at the house we found that the pictures we based our booking decision on, had not promised too much.
A double-sided fire place divides a cosy living room and a spacious kitchen (equipped with anything you need) and dining area.
The interiour decoration shows great attention to detail and each window offers a nice and sometimes spectacular view - either towards the bay and lighthouse or towards the town.
The water-front patio/deck invited many times to sit down and enjoy a gorgeous scenic view with a cup of coffie or glass of wine. We even got to watch a whale finding his way into the bay.
Not only the kitchen but the entire house is equipped with everything you need and mosquito screens at the windows keep away unwelcome visitors.
We, though, always felt welcome and it was comforting to have a helpful and supporting contact person (the manager of the house) in town.

Trinity has so much to offer, and at Commander's Keep we do our very best to anticipate the needs of our guests while you are at our private retreat. Great to hear we were successful and you felt pampered!!

Could not have been more perfect!
My husband & I wanted privacy, a view & comfort. It was all included with the extras. We enjoy grocery shopping within the local community & doing our own cooking. The kitchen had plenty of high quality pans, & equipment to make it fun. And nice big coffee & tea mugs! Every window had a lovely view.
The view from the deck was outstanding. We are birders so there was always something to see on the water or flying nearby. The lighthouse directly across the bay finished the picture perfectly. It was difficult to motivate ourselves to get out & explore the local area as we planned, too many delights just sitting on the deck listening to the waves or walking down the long driveway & strolling through the beautiful little village of Trinity.

Best Yet!
We stayed at CK for four days in the mid fall of 2013. We've been vacationing in Trinity Bight for the past ten years, on a regular basis, and have rented a half dozen other properties in the area, numerous times, over the years. Commander's Keep tops them all. Pure bliss!

David and Catherine's home is a dream come true
Amazing view of an iceberg right off the deck! The decor in the home is stunning, warm, friendly and top of the line! The Siamsa Singers so enjoyed making music in your home. Our fiddles and voices reverberated off the solid wood interior. Your home is infused with a love of the sea and a love for your fellow man. Can't wait to come back and rent the place all to myself!

Gorgeous home, incredible views!
Pictures cannot do this home justice. It is 5 star from the largest to the smallest details being met not only in the design and build of this tradtional looking NFLD. home but in the amenities as well as the care that is taken in the maintenance and upkeep of this beautiful place. We were extremely comfortable and will certainly stay again.

Perfect family vacation home!
We were fortunate to spend time at Commander's Keep on our vacation to Newfoundland this month. The house is perfect -- fabulous location, lovely decor, wonderful layout. Plenty of room for our family of four to be together and still have privacy. Pictures don't do it justice. The views from the windows and deck are awesome. The house was cozy on chilly days and bright on warm sunny ones. It's in easy walking distance to shops and food in Trinity, which is a nice community, and was a good base from which to explore the peninsula and beyond. We only wish it were closer to home so we'd be able to escape here more often.

Fabulous home, spectacular location, panoramic Trinity Bay ocean/town views.
Commander's Keep exceeded expectations. The house has a beautiful natural wood interior with stylish charm and décor. A large walk out deck fronts to the ocean, with unobstructed views of the harbour, town, and lighthouse. The well appointed kitchen is welcoming, and there is a large dining table in front of wall to wall windows overlooking the ocean. A 2-way fireplace graces the dining area, and a cozy sitting area on the other side that we enjoyed for relaxing conversations, books, music, and TV if so inclined. The cozy beds made for sound sleeping after lots of sea air while whale watching, and some hiking on the trails in town and surrounding area. We certainly enjoyed coming ''home'' to this lovely house at the end of every day. Highly recommend it for a 5 star stay in the pretty historic town of Trinity Bay, Newfoundland.

Spendid isolation, beautiful views, fabulous home
We had the privilege of staying at Commander's Keep for two weeks the end of May, beginning of June 2016, and cannot say enough positive things about this beautiful home. Carefully constructed in the saltbox style by local carpenters, the home is beautifully done inside and out with attention to detail. The kitchen is fully stocked so that even a gourmet cook will find anything he/she needs to cook. The view is spectacular, looking out into Trinity Harbor, to the lighthouse across the way. We were treated to views of icebergs, whales, a seal, many different birds, and enjoyed a fire every evening in this beautifully-appointed house. Also had the opportunity to read about the history of the area, and watch many old movies from the well-stocked DVD collection. Looking forward to going back in the summer or fall to catch the beauty of flowers.

The View is Spectacular!
The location of this house is amazing!
Catherine, our host, was extremely responsive and attentive.
The house is lovely - clean and well appointed - everything you'd want in the kitchen and enough supplies provided (toilet paper, paper towel, coffee, etc) - which is key when staying somewhere for a vacation.
Be prepared for lots of wind on the balcony, given its location.
No BBQ - and when on holidays, it's not ideal for meals - perhaps something can be added to the balcony to block from the wind to accommodate a BBQ.

Thank you for your positive comments about the views, the attention to details, and our efforts made so your stay would be the very best possible!
In Trinity, the traditional appearance of the homes is a top priority to the Trinity Historical Society and Town Council. For that reason, any kind of windbreak, even plexiglass (that could protect for the use of a BBQ) is out of the question, because it would break from the traditional appearance.
That is why, as you have noted, the gourmet kitchen is so very well equipped with top quality cookware and utensils, and has a layout with which previous guests, who were actually professional gourmet chefs, thoroughly enjoyed!
We are sorry you missed BBQ'ing while you were here.
We hope the outdoor blankets we provide for snuggling in the Muskoka chairs on the deck were cozy for you and allowed you to enjoy the 'total experience' of rugged Newfoundland, including its winds!!
