My mother, daughter & I rented this cottage and loved it. It was more than we expected, both in the quality of furnishings, the open easy spaces, and the location, close to the sunset rock hike (we went three times!), close to the botanical garden and close to town. The owners were gracious and easy to work with. Highly recommended - coming from the west coast, this is just how I expected the ideal rural NC cottage to be - not too overdone, not too frilly, not too rustic, affordable and cozy. Just right.

About the neighbourhood
Miss Rebecca's is located on the Highlands Greenways Trail, which is five miles of walking trails that go all over town from Sunset Rock to The Bascom Arts Center. The neighborhood is secluded just outside the business district and one-third mile away is Mountain Fresh Grocery where you'll find a deli, a coffee shop, a bakery, 'Italian Street Food,' an olive oil shop, carry-out family meals, and oh yes - groceries! It's probably the most popular place in town along with the Ugly Dog Pub, for delicious casual meals. Of course, fine diining restaurants abound in Highlands, and you'd want to try Wolfgang's, Paoletti's, Lakeside, and Wild Thyme, all of which are in walking distance. Don't miss Sunset Rock (trail begins right out your front door) for a beau... more

How to get there
Airport: Atlanta: 233.0 km
Atlanta Airport is about 2.5 hours unless there's a traffic jam. Greenville Airport is about 2 hours, and Asheville Airport is about 1.5 hours, and Charlotte Airport about 3.5 hours. There is no public transportation, but there are limo services that make airport runs. There is a limited, private taxi service in town, but it is best to have a car when visiting. Any way you drive up, you will be taking a windy mountain road. Enjoy the scenery, drive slowly, and pull over to let all those impatient people behind you go by!
