We have wi-fi a dvd player. and a smart TV We do not have cable service available in this area however, with the wifi you can get Hulu, , Netflix, U Tube and more. We have outside dining and a grill if you like to cook out. We are 1-1/2 miles from town yet it is still a very private rural setting. Our area has hiking trails and waterfalls and horseback riding. There is White water rafting in the Ocoee Valley. The Great Smokies National Park and the Cherokee Indian Reservation are a good day trip. They have a great train ride in Bryson City There is also the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway. Helen, the Alpine town is 30 miles down the mountain and is great for shopping and dining. They also have tubing on the river and a great zip line. Hayesville is an old fashioned town with an old fashioned ice cream shop and soda fountain. We are 70 years behind the times and two hours from everywhere. There is also gem mining and gold mining and a really interesting gold museum in Georgia just a short drive away Much gold was taken out of this area in the 1800's.. We have no mosquitoes in the mountains a welcome treat from Florida. Our water is well water fed by mountain springs and wonderful to drink also you can breathe the air here in the mountains we have trees not exhaust fumes. Visit us for all the fall activities too and the festivals. The John Campbell Folk School is in Brasstown a short drive away and has all kinds of craft exhibits from jewelry to cane chairs . The Sorghum Festival in Blairsville is in October they make sorghum syrup and there is greased pole climbing, log sawing, music, vendors and a great classic car show . Hayesville has the Punkin Chunkin Festival in October with airpllane rides, zip line, rockwall arts, crafts,. food. Then there is Octoberfest in Helen Georgia. Come and visit us and find a slower pace of life in the mountains of western North Carolina. There is so much to see but the best part is just enjoying the beautiful mountain scenery. Don't forget to book early for the fall season when the leaves turn color and all the fall festivals begin. The weather turns cooler then and it is absolutely gorgeous up here. Right now it is early summer and the honeysuckle is everywhere filling the air with its magical scent. Our cabin is filled with information on where to go, how to find it what restaurants you will like. You will love the town square with old time shops antique stores and a free concert Friday evenings.More

This is an ideal retreat next to the historic town of Hayesville. My family and I enjoyed our well equipped cabin, lots of hot water, clean and country decorated home away from home, with coffee and eggs from Ruth the owner. My husband said the...More

Thank you Pat I loved having you and hope you will come again. If you had stayed longer I am sure we would have become fast friends. Thanks for leaving the cabin so clean and nice and helping me with my twisted knee. It was...More

These people were horrible. They were dirty and destructive. They did over 500.00 worth of damage I only had 100.00 damage deposit and Tripadvisor refused to send me that back despite sending them receipts from the plumber and the handyman. This young hispanic couple damaged...More

Ruth was really nice. She approved additional guests after booking. The cabin is average , which is what I would expect for the price. My only negative would be that this is not a cabin for young children as all of the cleaning supplies are...More

It always seems when you go out of your way to accommodate someone you would have been better sticking to the rules. Carol booked for one person then a week before arriving added two more people. When I asked for the names and addresses she...More

Interaction with guests
I will always respect your privacy but I live just a half mile away and will be available to answer any questions about the area and make sure you are comfortable, When you are arriving just let me know what time or call when you get into town and I will meet you at the cabin with the keys and explain where everything is. I do provide a lot of information from the Chamber of Commerce - books and leaflets on what to do and how to get there. There are also books on rafting and hiking trails.
