We brought our family for the polar express experience and I think they had more fun on the river ! It was a great location as we could see the train go by a lot. I wish there was more of a pull out bed space for the kiddos but otherwise all great! Everything worked and the camper was warm and homey. No problems so we did not have to even contact anyone for this quick getaway. Had all we needed :)

Property was clean, the camper was clean and cozy!
It was perfect for our needs. we had another group with us who neighbored our trailer, and had the same host. We went hiking most of the day and came back to a cooled off home every night with a beautiful river view in the morning. Our host recommended a 3 places to eat. We ate at 2 of the 3 recommendations and they were all very good!
For the experience and the price, I would totally stay here again!

Camper was nice but bedroom and bath were too confining for our comfort. Had an issue with fleas and ants inside. Owner may want to consider flea and ant treatments. Campground was somewhat unkept, not a very pleasant surrounding. Loved being right on the river - had a great view! Will consider larger camper next time.

We stayed two nights. It started out fine it's an old camper it's clean. Some things I could name for cleaning, but nothing compared to something more important as needing heat and water. I would have rented it again if it wasn't for the second night. The second night, heater stopped working and the water froze. We had to pick up and leave real early in the morning because, it was so cold. It was in the low 20s. Very very disappointed. We had more plans for our trip. it was our anniversary, but we couldn't even take a shower or brush our teeth. So, we packed up and headed for home. That was way too much money to pay to stay there. To go through what we had to go through. Contacted the owner and she said was she was sorry which was fine. She also said that she's going to have to buy bigger tanks for the heat to last. We were only there one night and the heater was okay. It was noisy . Then the second night, it didn't work at all. Why would the gas only last one night?

The camper was just as pictured sitting on the banks of the Tuckasegee River. Nightly camp fires after a day on the lake, hiking or a local train ride made for the perfect weekend. The local business and dinners add to the charm of the area. Will definitely return.
