About the neighbourhood
Saltaire is named after Sir Titus Salt who built the mill and the village on the River Aire. The village is a UNESCO designated world heritage site and home to many artists and writers. One of the largest collections of work by David Hockney is on display in the galleries at Salts Mill. A vibrant village that has something for everyone... good restaurants ,cafes and bars, venues, galleries, a bookshop, great festivals and wonderful walks or cycle rides on the river, canal, woods and moors.
Getting around
There is easy access by train, bus or car to Haworth, (home of the renowned Bronte sisters), Ilkley, Leeds, York and Skipton.
