I am always accessible via telephone or electronically, and there is a house manager living in 10 minutes driving distance THE NEIGHBORHOOD The DACHA is set on 4 acres of farmland on a quiet country road with spectacular views from every window. There is one other house within sight. The Dacha is only accessible by car. The nearest railway station in Albany-Rensselaer Amtrak, 23 miles away. There are a small supermarket, a bank and a wine store in New Lebanon 6 miles away, and a gas station store with basic supplies in 2 miles. There is a pizza place 2 miles down the road (they deliver) and bars and restaurants at the Jiminy Peak complex (5 miles away). Full conveniences of civilization - specialty restaurants, supermarkets, cleaners, cinema, theater - are available in the Berkshires regional capital of Pittsfield, MA, 16 miles away. CULTURE Notwithstanding the serene setting, the area is abundant with culture. Williamstown, MA (18 miles away) is a major cultural center of New England. It is home to Williams College, the world renowned Clark Art collection and the Tony-Awarded Williamstown Theater Festival, which runs every July and August. For music lovers, 19 miles away is Tanglewood - the famed summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, and widely known as one of the world's most beloved music festivals (opens on June 28 and runs through August 30). The Meissner's Auction and flee market in the nearby New Lebanon attracts antiques collectors every weekend all year. This is a no-smoking premises. Non-destructive pets are welcome.More
