The location of Archipel Mansion is hard to beat. Unsurpassed views overlooking the world famous Volcano, nestled in an unspoiled and discreet neighbourhood - and rather importantly - easy access to the Mansion. This translates into no endless footpaths, uphill and hard to navigate stairs to reach your accommodation. The heart of Fira or the village of Firostefani is a mere ten minute leisurely stroll away.
The Mansion, family owned for centuries, boasts a rich history. The house has been reconstructed taking the form of a contemporary interpretation of the neo-classical style, which was popular amongst the affluent inhabitants of the island around the 19th century. Highlights of the home include striking domes, thick walls and vaulted ceilings – the symbiosis of old and new results in...

Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.
If you have submitted a review for a holiday rental property, we may also ask that you provide us with proof of your stay to ensure that your review is attached to the correct rental property.
Holiday rental reviews collected via the VRBO website (formerly Homeaway) and syndicated to the Tripadvisor website are not currently subject to Tripadvisor’s standard moderation processes.

Santorini's Best
Archipel Mansion is a terrific property in the heart of Santorini. It offers both privacy and convenient access to the main village in Santorini. The property is well kept and well appointed. The staff was terrific, offering ideas and help with booking island activities. Highly recommend this property.

Above and beyond our expectations
A group of 9 of us stayed at the mansion in late August for 3 nights but we are wishing it was a lot longer. Angeliki, the mansion manager, went above and beyond in every aspect. Because we almost got scammed via another website we were skeptical and wanted to make sure our transaction was secure and she jumped thru hoops to ensure it was but this is just the beginning of her amazing service.
Santorini is a confusing island with lots of twists and turns but that's part of the fun (I think). The mansion is at the top of a hill and definitely in the cut so the right turn to get to it is little blind and unmarked. If you make it to the Salt & Pepper restaurant, you went too far. There is no parking on site but right outside of the property you can park if there is available space or approx. a block away is a parking lot which usually had a lot of free spaces for ATVs and cars.
We arrived a little early but she allowed us into the villa and upon entry our jaws dropped; the pictures do not give this place and the view justice. To give a little detail on the layout, as you walk in the front door there is a large dinner table for 8 immediately to your left and there was a fresh fruit basket for us. As you walk in further, to your left is the large sunken living room with a TV, couple of lamps, two beautiful cream leather chairs with grommets and a double sided door which leads to the patio. With a sharp right, there is the kitchen which is well equipped, larger than expected fridge and gas stove for cooking. As you exit the kitchen, on the right there is the half bathroom and the stairs for the double bedroom on the upper floor.
Beyond that, on the right and down the hall is the washing machine and another double bedroom which can be converted into twin beds with a full private bathroom. Returning from the hallway and continuing right is the master bedroom which was lovely! Its essentially 3 different rooms - upon entry is the sitting room with two chairs and a small table with a bookcase, to the right there is another small room with the cutest skylight, a super comfy queen size bed and a lovely armoire. The 3rd room is the master bath which is exactly as its pictured.
Re-entering the dining room and opposite the entry doorway is where you access the huge patio, wading pool and the 4th and 5th bedrooms. Walking across the patio and a little to the right is where the 4th bedroom and down a flight of stairs is the 5th bedroom which can also be converted to a twin room - both rooms provide complete and total privacy.
Now the patio - I think this made everyone's heart skip a beat or two. It can be accessed from two different doors and has completely unobstructed views of the caldera and the rest of the island as far as the eye can see. Absolutely amazing! And what's better, you can enjoy the same view from the pool. I don't know if its a hot tub or a jacuzzi because we never tried to activate it and it wasn't hot which is perfect for 90+ degree weather! Also on the patio is a large concrete table for at least 8 people and a smaller table where we had breakfast everyday.
Lastly and what is probably most important - the service we received from Angie (property manager) and Violetta (housekeeper). There arent words that can explain how amazing they were. Angie made sure everything was perfect from day one. She arranged a delicious breakfast every day we were there and also managed to help me arrange a surprise birthday dinner at the mansion for my friend's birthday. She hung a banners and signs, even blew up balloons and wouldnt let me help her with anything. And Violetta was so sweet and amazing - while we were at breakfast she slipped into the rooms and cleaned them in record time. I was seriously amazed at how we would go to breakfast and return to the room and everything is straightened up, bed made, etc. I mean WOW - that level of service and the extra effort to make our stay amazing is unheard of in today's times.
I cannot say enough about our experience at the mansion and look forward to returning in the next year or two. Angie and Violetta - thank you both for everything you did for us.
Lastly and this has NOTHING to do with the mansion and staff but its important to note. Please make sure you lock your rooms after you leave. Unfortunately the 4th bedroom (across the patio) was broken into because it was left unlocked while we were there hanging out on the patio. Because there are several trees, it provides for lots of privacy but also cannot be seen from the patio. Thankfully they didnt take anything of real value (only a cell phone, cash and costume jewelry) but be mindful of this. If you've seen Santorini, you see a lot of the homes are tiered levels for the view but this also provide easy access by simply jumping down.

Amazing!!!!
We could not choose a better place for our "precious" vacation! Outstanding place, amazing views, superb terrace for fullmoon, super high-aesthetics and at the same time a quiet, clean and comfortable place. The most noble lodging in Santorini! We will come again and again and again! Thank you guys for making our holidays a super experience! Memorable!

Magnificent private mansion with a Great View at the best spot
With my extended family (5 adults and 5 children) between 16-21 August 2013 we travelled to Santorini and stayed at the Archipel Mansion occupying all three parts of the complex (main house, studio & apartment), which allowed us to enjoy family time while securing privacy.
VIEW & SPOT !!!
The mansion provides a magnificent view to the Caldera and the Aegean archipelago.
It is located at the best spot right within the old town in an ideal area avoiding the noise of the town. The children (age 13) could easily visit he town on-foot by themselves. We could even overlook them from the terrace !
Excellent SERVICE in a superb atmosphere (elegant & modern mood, while few antique furniture and a significant collection of authentic gravures, etc.).
Concluding, great experience at reasonable price (10 people !) on a magnificent island.

About the neighbourhood
The center of the city, where the central bus station, taxi rank, and most clubs and commercial shops are situated, is a mere ten minutes walk by foot through the paved pedestrian streets.
A - must do - walk is towards Firostefani, following the “fridi”, the paved pathway that stretches along the top of the caldera, with a really special and an ever exciting sunset spot. Before arriving to the “plateia” of Firostefani, you are passing by the Catholic church of Panagia from the yard of which you may gaze at the ever changing view of the Santorini archipelago.
The property can be easily reached by car, being on the top of the caldera bay. The cable car, leading to the old port, is located at a walking distance of five minutes. Public parking area, free of charge, is available near the property.
