Enjoy the lake breezes and the sound of the waves against the rocky lakeshore. Quietly observe a great blue heron stalking crawfish along the water's edge, or marvel at an osprey diving out of the sky for fish. Hunt for fossils in the lakeshore shale. Watch the enormous carp swimming lazily amongst the water lilies in the shallows of the cove behind the house, and the turtles sunning themselves on logs. Explore the area parks, waterfalls, and wineries. Laugh around a table, enjoying a meal with loved ones. Relax around a bonfire and watch the stunning colors of sunset bleed into the deep sapphire of twilight and the stars start to twinkle. Let the sound of the water against the rocks and the conversations of the frogs in the back cove lull you to sleep at night. The perfect mix of nature and convenience, the Point is far enough from everything to be relaxing, and still an easy 10-15 minute drive to Ithaca College, Cornell University, and downtown Ithaca. This unique lakefront property is close to area attractions and a perfect spot for guests with a variety of interests!
The flat, convenient lake-level gravel parking area means no long cliffside staircases to go up and down from the house in order to be near the water. The cook's kitchen is fully equipped with appliances, cookware, glasses, & tableware. A 2nd fridge/freezer in the utility room allows plenty of provisioning and a 21-bottle wine fridge allows you to store your finds after a day visiting the area wineries. The living room area includes a flat screen TV with cable and a DVD player. Wireless internet is provided. A wall of windows faces views over the lake south to the town of Ithaca, with Cornell University, and Ithaca College visible on opposite hills above the town. The house provides 3 bedrooms (BR1 = 1 king, BR2 = 1 queen + 1 twin, BR3 = 1 queen ) and 2 bathrooms (1 full bath w/ shower+tub combo and a heated towel rack + 1 half bath). The bathrooms are small and modest, but clean and functional. All 3 BRs have windows that overlook the private cove to the north of the house. Recently updated decor features a comfort-oriented, eclectic style, celebrating the viticultural, agricultural and geologic influences of the area, with regional art adorning the walls.
Outside, a firepit provides opportunities for lakeside bonfires, and a Weber propane barbecue for grilling on the front deck. A 2-4 person hot tub on the front deck provides an incomparable place to relax with amazing lake views. During the warm season, the front deck also provides comfortable seating for lounging, and an 8-person dining table; dining at the outdoor table with the views across the lake is an opportunity not to be missed! During the summer, hammocks invite blissful relaxation right by the water & 2 adult-sized kayaks + 2 kid-sized kayaks and a stand-up-paddleboard are available for use. Property amenities like outdoor furniture & kayaks are seasonally stored and not available during colder months; if important to your stay, please confirm availability before booking. The huge, level lawn provides plenty of room for the kids to run and burn off energy, and there is a playground at Myers Park, just a 5 minute walk away.
We provide bed linens and a set of bath towels for every guest, and cleaning is taken care of by us when you depart. During the summer months, window air conditioning units are provided in each bedroom.
Come and make some incomparable memories!

This place is amazing we rented in October for a 40th Birthday and everyone enjoyed their stay especially our dog Marley. The house has everything you may need and the property is one of the most beautiful places we have ever rented.
When we pulled up to the house, we got pretty nervous. Although we were told the property was next to a marina, it was very strange to drive through a lot of boats that were covered in tarps and had grills outside. It seemed like...More
The lake house is right out in the water with 6 mile views to Ithaca in the south and the rest of the lake to your right. Very private and restful. Nice deck in front with hot tub and grill. The house is nicely appointed...More
We had such a wonderful time here. It's very family friendly, private, and the views over the lake at sunset are beautiful. I could kick back on the deck and just enjoy the scenery for hours without even noticing the time go by. The house...More

A car is definitely needed! Most of the area is comprised of a network of small towns, so public transportation options are few and far between.
