The street and the beach of Seminyak are located well apart, but can be reached via Jalan Camplung Tanduk (aka Jalan Dhyana Pura), branching west midway along Jalan Raya Seminyak. The street is 1.78 km long, with its northern half often referred to locally as Jalan Raya Basangkasa. Northwards, it’s a convenient continuation of your shopping walks from Legian, starting from the junction of Jalan Arjuna (Double Six Street) and Kuta’s end of Jalan Nakula.Jalan Raya Seminyak is mostly about shopping and dining – there’s not much sightseeing to be had along its length, apart from small local village temples and their adjoining community halls. You can start your shopping walks in Seminyak, from where Legian’s main street ends, and head towards.
Getting around
Seminyak stretches from Jalan Double Six (Jalan Ajuna) in the south and morphs into the villages of Kerobokan and Umalas somewhere north of the Petitenget temple. The main road of Jalan Raya Seminyak is simply an extension of Jalan Legian, while Jalan Kayu Aya turns sharply off Jalan Raya Seminyak, twisting and curving its way towards Petitenget. To confuse matters, Jalan Kayu Aya turns into Jalan Laksmana, but is also sometimes called Jalan Oberoi or even “Eat Street”. Lining these arteries, boutiques, cafes and restaurants abound. Outside of these roads, the area can feel like a bit of a rabbit warren as once tranquil ricefield lanes have become sandwiched between the concrete walls of villas and upmarket hotels
