This simply means the whole gite is available at a 1 couple price if it is not already booked to a larger group. About Lismore Lismore is your perfect holiday get-away whether you are a group of friends or a family with children or pets. A beautiful and relaxing high quality ground floor gite for 1-2 couples, a small group of friends or a family. Each bedroom has an ensuite bathroom. 1 bedroom is queen, the second bedroom can be queen or twin. The living area & kitchen is fully equipped, airy, comfortable & spacious. Private parking in the rear. General Information Lismore has a fully equipped kitchen, linen, towels. There is TV with French & English channels & free WIFI but note the buildings are over 300 years old with stone walls that do interfere sometimes with internet signals. However if you stay near the internet device in your gite you will be fine. We supply a folder of information in your gite that explains everything you need to know including a local map, a list of all the supermarkets, restaurant phone numbers for bookings, car hire, train schedules, emergency contact numbers for hospital, doctor & pharmacy as well as a map of the property (it is 75 hectares so lots of places to walk). Also our office is manned during all business hours to help and answer any questions. We are also able to be contacted afterhours by phone, email or message. There is a guest laundry with washing machine. Each gite has iron, ironing board & a rack for hanging clothes to dry. What is there to do- on the farm Lismore is located within the 75 hectare equestrian farm. You are welcome to visit the horses (by appointment) or walk around our beautiful gardens brimming with fruit trees and pick your own fruit. Depending on the season we have pears, apples, walnuts, chestnuts, blackberries, strawberries, cherries or help yourself to herbs growing around the garden. A private lake and hectares of rich pastures and shady laneways provides beautiful walks and places to explore. A wood BBQ is provided in the garden for your use with plenty of tables & seating to move to your favorite spot. Various bikes are available for the children to use. Tourist attractions within an easy day drive Haras du Ry is located in the heart of Normandy so is a perfect holiday destination. An equidistant 15 minutes from Utah Beach and Omaha Beach, you are in the best location for touring the famous D Day invasion sites if you are interested in this World War 2 history. If you are a beach buff then the peninsula of La Manche is surrounded by over 200km of fantastic and varied coastline. Start on the west coast with a visit to the famous Mont St. Michel, then a leisurely drive to the resort of Granville with its Christian Dior Museum and gardens. Agon-Coutainville is famed for its fine oysters and then miles of accessible and clean sandy beaches stretch up to the chic boutique ports of Barneville-Carteret. Following the route des Caps, or the sentier des douaniers (coastal footpath) is a great way to explore the cliffs and coves of the pink granite coast up to the rugged landscape of La Hague. Perhaps a quick ferry visit for a day from Cherbourg to Jersey or Gurnsey Island appeals or just continue heading east from Cherbourg with its state of the art aquarium, the region of Val de Saire and the ports St.Vaast and Barfleur, famed for their mussels or the Ile de Tatihou nature reserve. Inland, the landscape is defined by traditional agricultural practices, which over the centuries have created the 'bocage', a network of small fields, hedgerows and narrow lanes. There is often a surprise around a corner as Normandy boasts many fine manoirs,,Chateaux and gardens, many of which are open to the public A little further East & you easily reach the port of Grand Camp Maisy where the morning markets deliver the best seafood you have ever tasted. Then it is a short 15 minute drive to the famous medieval city of Bayeaux with the cathedral & tapestry. Please note a city tax will be charged on property. It is a compulsory tax calculated on the number of adult and minor guests and the number of nights stayed. It normally doesn't exceed 1€/night per person and is often less.More

We did like the silence, the garden, peaceful animal friendly environment, friendly owners, nice house, .... and still being close to every historic site around. We stayed here for a week and this made true every word it promised.

About the neighbourhood
This would be a great base for bird-watchers, lovers of wildlife (seal watching at La Baie des Veys - a few kms down the road), ramblers or those wishing to visit the WW11 D-Day landing beaches and Museums. Normandy is famous for its seafood, dairy products and cider, and there are many fabulous restaurants suitable for all budgets in the area, or you can enjoy browsing the local markets to buy the fresh produce
