Enjoy the beauty of Glacier Park, Montana in the historic "off the grid" town of Polebridge. Visit the historic mercantile, experience wildlife, raft/kayak the North Fork of the Flathead River, and enjoy a unique and pristine wilderness experience. The cabin is located next door to Glacier National Park (1 mile to the entrance) and a quarter mile walk to the North Fork of the Flathead River or to the infamous Polebridge Mercantile and Northern Lights Saloon, a great place for an elk burger, wild salmon, and a local brew. The cabin sits in a quiet meadow near the end of the road. The deck is the perfect location for coffee in the morning and cocktails during sunset. The cabin is fully furnished, complete with an outhouse, awesome wood stove, indoor bathtub, propane range, heater, and fridge. Electrical outlets provide minimal electricity, but enough for your coffee grinder and a few lamps. The kitchen includes an old style pitcher pump so you can access water from the well. It is drinkable and will fill your shower bags! Amazing, pure spring water is also available just a half mile up the road. Activities around the cabin and Polebridge include but are not limited to......HIKING, Walking, BIKING, RUNNING, FISHING, reading, meeting neighbors, hanging out at the mercantile for morning coffee, cooking good food, going out to dinner at the saloon, eating pastries at the Mercantile, boating on the river, finding cool rocks on the river, climbing peaks, sleeping, RELAXING! There is a boat rental business open during the summer months, it's called North Fork Boat Rentals. They have a tiny shed next to the Mercantile. You can rent a paddle board, an inflatable kayak or a tandem sea kayak! Polebridge Meadow is a perfect neighborhood, with approximately 15 cabins. It's our quaint town site, most people live elsewhere and have vacation cabins here. It's busier in the summer, with great people up here on the weekends. July and August are the busiest tourist months, June and September less busy. The roads are maintained year round, and winter driving tends to be good. Fly into Glacier International Airport in Kalispell, Montana. The local kids who work at the mercantile can sometimes provide car shuttles for river trips. You must coordinate with them when you get up there! I will not be able to meet you in person but am happy to email and/or talk on the phone prior to or after your visit. The property managers however, live nearby and may be available should you have questions or concerns during your stay. You will have a few neighbors, but they are not super close by and they are friendly folks. You will be close to the river and the mercantile. Please Note: You must provide your own linens and toiletries.

Stunning location and unique experience!
I stayed in Bridget's cabin for five days in late July of 2010. During that time I fell in love with Polebridge, a sweet town almost entirely off the grid. The main store in town called the Mercantile has any essentials you might have forgotten to bring and some of the most fabulous pastries in Montana. Of course just a hop, skip, bike ride, or drive away is Glacier National Forest which is my favorite national park in the United States. Truly breathtaking place! The cabin is a lovely place to call home up in the mountains. It's a rustic getaway that really allows you to get away from the stressors of jobs, city life and flush toilets :) Enjoy solar electricity, a pretty little outhouse, and pumping water for the dishes. I know we sure did! Plus deer wandering by the window and the great big Montana sky beats out television any day!
