We built this cabin out of an old shed when we bought this place about 10 years ago. Back then it was used to store farm equipment - it had a dirt floor and had gates hung on the front to keep the cattle out!
We lived here until we finally built our new home, and now it is a space dedicated for guests.
Cabin is super cosy during the cooler months with a potbelly fire place and warm bedding. Cabin is fully insulated on walls and ceiling to keep the space cosy in winter and cool in summer. Lots of windows let in the breezes and a pedestal fan if its extra warm.
Plenty of space to bring your four legged friends - large, pastured horse yard available and fenced yard for dogs.

We stayed 4 nights at this beautiful cabin and loved it. Only a short drive into Glen Innes for a meal but feel like a million miles away. The cabin very comfy and has everything you need cook and relax. It was a great base to explore the area. We will be back for sure.

Delightful Stay
Staying in the stylishly restored old farming shed at Kai Waii estate is a delightful experience. The cottage has stunning views across the property and watching the sun rise over the view from our super comfy bed, sipping tea from the kettle on the beautiful old pot belly stove was indeed a rare experience.
Hosts Annabelle and Dave were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. Annabelle cooked us a lamb roast and sticky date pudding for dinner which was delicious.
We would highly recommend this property for a little slice of country life in complete comfort.

Can we go 6*? Beyond perfect for us and our pooch
A thoughtfully created gorgeous space ideal for us and our Cavoodle. Wish we had booked for longer to enjoy the lovely hosts, Annabelle’s heavenly food and the peaceful environment. Well appointed without loosing its comforts with every single thing thought of. We arrived with our clothes, there was fresh milk in the fridge as well as beautiful yoghurt and fresh stewed fruit for breakfast. We indulged ourselves in having dinner cooked for us. We contemplated moving in permanently!
The only downside was the dirt driveway but as we had been warned it only encouraged us to stay put and relax. We will definitely visit again to take up the offer of fireplace and/or firepit in colder weather.

Peaceful sanctuary
The cottage is separate from the main house and you feel in your own piece of paradise overlooking an amazing view. We loved having a full sized kitchen and could quite easily stay for a week! We have two young children and there is a fenced yard that they had a wonderful time exploring. Annabelle and Dave were great hosts.
