A perfect hideaway in a tranquil little-known part of the Lake District National Park - yet within easy reach of all major Lakeland visitor attractions.

The cottage is perfect for that get-away-from-it-all holiday. It's a cosy base from which you can walk for miles along ancient tracks and footpaths, take a leisurely drive through quiet lanes or just do nothing - relaxing in the 3/4 acres of garden or perhaps taking a picnic down to the summer house overlooking the pond.

Forest Field cottage is a luxurious, (4 star rated) cottage with level access adjacent to our Victorian schoolmaster's house. Completely private and self contained, it has been specially designed for two people. It is well equipped with high quality furnishings and decor throughout and kept in immaculate condition.

About the neighbourhood
Set in the rolling hills and quiet, unspoilt countryside in the south of the Lake District National Park, the cottage makes an ideal venue from which to explore what the Lake District has to offer.

You can walk for miles along ancient tracks and footpaths, take a leisurely drive through quiet lanes, hire bicycles or a boat or go horse riding. Or you may prefer to relax and do very little.

Well known Lakeland visitor attractions are not far away with the Grizedale Forest, Hawkshead, Lake Coniston and Lake Windermere all within a quarter of an hour away by car. The cottage is ideally located for exploring places so familiar to Beatrix Potter and featured in the recent film Miss Potter.

Although we always use public transport where we can, to gain the maximum enjoyment from your holiday, we recommend that you should either have the use of a car or bicycle or be proficient walkers. The nearest railway station is Ulverston (5 miles away) and nearest bus route through Greenodd (2 miles away).

By Car: From M6 (Jn 36) and A590 towards Ulverston and Barrow. Then via Penny Bridge turning right along an unclassified road up the valley to Colton.
