Tastefully decorated situated in a lovely village. The photos do not do the cottage justice. We would highly recommend this cottage to couples who enjoy walking through beautiful English countryside, situated just yards from the ridgeway national trail. Great pubs within walking distance. We would also recommend Buscot park a lovely NT stately home with stunning gardens and Highclere Castle...

What a gorgeous cottage, nestling into the hill, by the church, with wonderful views from bedroom window, short walk down hill to great pub, and short walk up hill to the Ridgeway. Beautifully furnished and decorated, quality furnishings, lovely little garden, helpful and good comms. Definitely be back!

Management response:

Hello Kate, thank you for your lovely review and we look forward to welcoming you back anytime at Churchyard Cottage. Debra

I never wanted to leave this place. Peaceful setting and well equipped. A car is essential. There is a nearby pub but purchasing groceries is 15, 20 minutes away so be prepared. The owners were flexible which was greatly appreciated. Many lovely walks on the doorstep. I have already recommended to a friend.

Management response:

Hi Susan, thank you for your lovely review. I hope you return one day and thank you for recommending Churchyard Cottage to your friend. Debra

About the neighbourhood
The Rose and Crown Pub is just a stone’s throw from Churchyard Cottage. In addition to this there are a couple of lovely pubs that can be reached by taking a picturesque walk along the famous Ridgeway. Such as;

The Royal Oak in Bishopstone which uses their own organic ingredients from their privately-owned farm. It is also renowned as one of Oxfordshire’s No1 pubs.

The White Horse in Woolstone which also serves fantastic food.

The Ridgeway is located immediately behind the Cottage by walking past the Church and up the small path. If you take a left on the Ridgeway you can walk to Wayland’s Smithy (2 miles away) and The Uffington White Horse Hill (3 miles away). If you turn right you can walk to Bishopstone (4 miles away).
