Carsac-Aillac, Sarlat-la-Caneda, Dordogne, Nouvelle-Aquitaine
Chestnut consists of a refurbished vintage 1974 Castleton caravan alongside a log cabin built from timber from our own woodlands, that houses a large shower room and kitchen/seating area.

Chestnut is situated on the edge of our woodlands with a view of the swimming pool and towards the Dordogne valley. We have lovingly refurbished the caravan with fun retro styling and fixtures and fittings. There is a comfortable double bed in the caravan, and a choice of dining for two inside or out.

Chestnut is so named because of the Chestnut trees that can be found deep in our woodlands and in the wider Dordogne area.

Chestnut has its own private kitchen area in the log cabin immediately adjacent to the caravan, there is a 2-ring gas hob, grill, and a washing up area. Chestnut is fully equipped with all crockery, cutlery and utensils needed and t...

About the neighbourhood
Sarlat is a few kilometres north of the River Dordogne. It is a medieval town that developed around a large Benedictine abbey of Carolingian origin.

Because modern history has largely passed it by, Sarlat has remained preserved and one of the towns most representative of 14th century France. The centre of the old town consists of impeccably restored stone buildings and is largely car-free.

Sarlat is a pleasure to walk around, especially during the spring and autumn, or early in...
