Cushing Harbor House is real Maine…time is told by high and low tides, when the sun hits your window as it rises just above the spires of ancient pine trees, when lobster boats steam back to the harbor and bring in their catch, an timeless sight, captured in the picture window of your living room.
Located on the shores of Cushing Harbor, this newly renovated cape is a true escape from almost any visitor’s normal day to day experience. The house sits on a small knoll overlooking the harbor and a well-kept lawn leads to a shared dock where guests can swim, fish and kayak from.
The property has a front porch that overlooks the waterfront with 180 degree views and outdoor seating and dining furniture.
The house is sunny and bright and neat and tidy. A mudroom, a fantastic place to leave sandy shoes, wet towels and all the leftovers from a day outside, is at the entrance to the house.
The kitchen is new and fully equipped with all modern appliances and lots of counter space for meal preparation. There is a small breakfast bar as well.
The dining area is off the kitchen and living room. The living room is stylish and comfortable with ample seating, gorgeous views of the water, a flat screen television with satellite reception, an XM radio dock, DVD player, internet access, and a multitude of books and puzzles for rainy days.
Two of the three bedrooms are in a wing off the living room. The first bedroom has a queen bed and the second has a bunk bed configuration with a double bed on the bottom bunk and a twin on the top. A full, shared bathroom in located in the hall.
The master bedroom, with a queen bed, is on the opposite side of the house and is large and bright with a private bathroom with a shower.
Cushing Harbor House is a fantastic option for groups of any size – it is large enough to accommodate 7 people but wouldn’t feel huge if only 2 people were staying. It is thoughtfully equipped, furnished and decorated and very well maintained.
Historically used as a base of operations for a local family that has a summer house on a local island, this house is perfect for those who want to be out of the way without being too far away from what the Midcoast has to offer.
Walk down to the dock to get fresh lobsters for dinner, kayak into Muscongus Bay, walk, run or bike and then, drive 15 minutes to Thomaston, Rockland or nearby Port Clyde, Tenants Harbor or Camden and take in all this diverse area has to offer.
During SUMMER rentals are scheduled Saturday to Saturday only.
Additional amenities include: bathroom 1- shower, bedroom 3-bunk bed; double bed on bottom, twin on top, bedroom 2-queen, bedroom 1- queen, bathroom 2- full shower and tub.
