2BR Coastal Kittery Maine Home near Portsmouth NH

Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 6
Kittery, Maine
This c. 1800 Maine Cape Cod-style home has been lovingly restored to an adorable and comfortable vacation home. A fully-provisioned kitchen (dishwasher, microwave, Keurig, 12-cup coffee maker, 2 ovens, new cookware), a brand new renovated bathroom and many recent updates throughout the house make this home a peaceful retreat. The dining room table provides seating for 6. Bedroom #1 has a king bed that can separate into 2 twins upon request. Bedroom #2 has a plush platform king that can convert to a single twin daybed (not a squeaky trundle). There are 2 roll-away portable twin beds with quality memory foam mattresses (firm traditional-sized twin mattresses meant for adults, not saggy little cot mattresses). One is set up in an alcove in the living room as a daybed for extra seating. The other can be put in either bedroom. The yard is comp... Read more

Great location: a terrific 1800s house in a residential neighborhood with a "distant" water view; is close to Kittery Foreside for eateries; easy walk on Whipple Road to USPS station, hardware and drug store, gas station with mini-mart for quick snacks, coffee, beverages, etc; and...More

About the neighbourhood
This is a residential, historic, beautiful neighborhood of old seaside homes in Maine's oldest town. You can walk to Kittery Foreside to have dinner or a drink at many trendy restaurants, several bars, Tributary brewery, fabulous coffee shops and a couple pizza places. There are pretty shops and galleries in downtown Kittery. If you continue your walk another mile, you'll reach downtown Portsmouth with even more restaurants, shopping, theaters, breweries, museums and daily outdoor shows at Prescott Park during the summer. At the NH side of the Memorial Bridge, you can rent bikes hourly (through zagster bikeshare-bring your own helmet as they aren't provided) and spare yourself from parking in downtown.
Getting around
There is no public transportation in Kittery. There is a trolley system in Portsmouth and surrounding towns in NH. You can rent bikes and scooters in Portsmouth. We do have Uber and several private taxi and limo services in the area. Portsmouth has a Greyhound and C&J bus station and Amtrack has a train station in nearby Dover. Portsmouth offers ferry service to the Isles of Shoals, one of our favorite places! We highly recommend scheduling a boat trip as part of your visit.
