The Garden Cottage. A 17th Century 2 Bed Cottage with hot tub near Ironbridge

Overview
Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms , 1 Bathroom , Sleeps 4
Coalport, Shropshire, England
One of the earliest properties in the Ironbridge/Severn Gorge, this is a charming 2 bedroom cottage. We have created a home - all the things you could possibly need are included - from slow cooker and bbq, to decent kitchen knives, from cot to pushchair to bottle steriliser, from books, dvds, and family games, to age appropriate childrens toys.

There is a double bedroom and a child's bedroom (with child size bed - up to age 6 approx). There is a very comfy sofa bed in the sitting room for older children. We can also provide a travel cot, which can be placed in either bedroom. There is a pretty sitting room with garden views, and a downstairs kitchen/breakfast room.

Outside there is a hot tub, which is perfect after a day exploring. The patio and garden are shared with the main house, but with 1.5 acres to explore we are sure y...

The property is rustic with entrance into the kitchen and main rooms upstairs. The kitchen was well equipped and the owners left us a great supply of provisions which was a nice touch and unusual in our experience. We self catered over our three night...More

About the neighbourhood
This beautiful valley along the river Severn, spanned by the world’s first iron bridge, was once home to countless factories, furnaces and workshops, whose story is told in no fewer than 10 museums. At Blists Hill Victorian Town, costumed actors give an insight into life in the valley as they go about their daily lives in their cottages, shops and places of work. There’s a Victorian fairground, an old-fashioned sweet shop, and horse and cart rides. At the nearby Enginuity science and technology centre, children can learn about locomotives and robots, while the Coalport China Museum and Jackfield Tile Museum run craft workshops where they can try out their pottery and painting skills.
Getting around
Three pubs within a short walk, with a wide range of food and prices.
Excellent dog walks and cycle paths through the woodlands of Severn Gorge which can take you across the county in all directions.
One of our (and our dogs) favourite walks is about 30 -40 minutes and takes you through Jackfield past the Tile Museum and straight to Ironbridge. On the way back you can pass Blists Hill Victorian Town, The Tar Tunnell and the China Museum.
If you want a walk with rest stops don't worry, there are 5 pubs along the way to choose from all with great views over the Severn.
