Jenny's Croft is a 5* rated, Gold Award standard peaceful holiday cottage within the Rowley Estates and is located in the hamlet of Glassonby situated in the middle of the Eden Valley. Views over the rolling hills of the Eden Valley are the main feature of Jenny's Croft and its private entrance, parking area and outlook make the best of this. Jenny's Croft has also been certified as a 'Families Welcome' and 'Pets Welcome' cottage y Visit England which means we provide extra facilities, equipment and information for our visitors and there is plenty of room in the large off road garden area for getting outside! About the neighbourhood
The Grade II listed Cumbrian long house and sandstone barns date back to the 1600s. The hamlet of Glassonby is approx. 10 miles from Ullswater, one of England's most beautiful lakes, where there are steam cruises from Pooley Bridge to Glenridding, fabulous hikes up Helvellyn, chances to walk and paddle in the National Trust Aira Force Waterfall, pony treks from Rookin House Farm and canoes and sailboats available to hire from the Glenridding Sailing Centre. When done playing in the Lake District National Park, visitors can enjoy a leisurely meal on the shoreline of Lake Ullswater at the Michelin starred Sharrow Bay, a Michelin starred Egon Ronay top 200 UK restaurant.
Getting around
Jenny's Croft, Glassonby is located just a couple of miles off the A686 which is a beautifully scenic route from Penrith and crosses the River Eden. The road continues to climb the Hartside Pass to a height of 1904 ft, from where you will find magnificent views across the Eden Valley, Solway Firth and Scotland. The Settle to Carlisle railway runs through Langwathby which is only a short drive from Jenny's Croft The railway has some of the most attractive scenery & is world famous for its Victorian architecture. Penrith train station is on the West Coast Main Line, the railway linking London to Birmingham, Manchester, Liverpool, Edinburgh & Glasgow. Glassonby & the nearby villages offer wonderful walks with beautiful scenery.

Leave the M6 Motorway at J40 sign posted Penrith

At the roundabout take the A66 exit heading East towards Appleby/Scotch Corner

After 0.9 miles at the next roundabout take the 2nd exit onto the A686 sign posted Alston

After approx 5 miles you will reach the metal bridge, over the bridge is the village of Langwathby turn left onto Salkeld Rd

Continue on Salkeld Road for approx 5 miles towards the village of Glassonby

When you enter the village of Glassonby turn right after the children's playground and as the road bears right you will find Jenny's Croft elevated on the right.
