Via Riolo is situated just a 5 minute walk from the centre of the village up a slight incline through a narrow road of houses more than 200 years old steeped in history. The village hosts a train station, petrol station, cafes and restaurants serving exceptionally tasty and affordable food. The village supermarket is stocked with fresh, varied produce enabling relaxing BBQ's on the terrace. Accessed via the original 210 year old entrance, climbing granite stairs the apartment is on the first floor and includes: • 2 Bedrooms • 2 bathrooms • Kitchen/Diner • Living Room • Terrace (36 sq metres) • Communal Garden • Communal Pool Snug fully fitted kitchen with all modern appliances. brand new 4 ring ceramic hob and oven, integrated fridge/freezer, washing machine and dishwasher and breakfast bar. Bathroom Newly refurbished, spacious family bathroom including bath, shower, wash basin and WC Eating Out There are lots of super places to eat in and around Monzone with incredible cuisine at really affordable prices with excellent reviews. Within walking distance there is; De Remo The De Remo restaurant and hotel is a 5 minute walk from the house and is frequented by the locals. The food and service are excellent. Pizza night on a Saturday is fantastic with the most amazing choice of pizzas cooked to perfection. The Italian pork dish called Lardo is a speciality here and must be tried. Best to book during peak season on a Friday or Saturday. Do look at the reviews on Trip Advisor Al Vecchio Tino A 10 minute drive away, or 40 minute walk away is the Al Vecchio Tino hotel with breath taking views of the mountains, an award winning restaurant with excellent prices. It is ranked 1 out of 10 restaurants in the region of Fivizzano and people drive from miles around to come to this eating place. View the website here and the menu. View the reviews of this restaurant on Trip Advisor “This was the best meal of our Tuscan holiday. The restaurant has a wonderful, remote location with superb views. It is unostentatious but the food was of the highest standard.' The views at this restaurant are quite simply breath taking, the sunsets incredible and the food is divine. Equi Terme (from a Child's perspective) A five minute car journey or 25 minute walk away from the apartment is a natural river spa which can be enjoyed by both child and parent. Kids clamber all over the marble rocks and go swimming in the hot and cold waters further up stream whilst the adults watch and relax in the warm waters against one of the mini waterfalls admiring the excellent views. On the 3rd week of August 2013 we went twice to this pool and we all thought it was awesome. My bro (Owen) and I almost forced our parents to take us again and again and we loved it. But there is more than just the river in Equi-Terme, there are also underground caves underneath the town to visit, people come from far away to visit the caves as they are amazing. You could also, (for people who like a morning run!) climb the nearby mountains that you can see from all around including every window in the house. You can visit La Spezia for excellent shopping or take one of the boat trips or a short train ride to visit one or more of the 5 incredible ancient villages of the Cinque Terre. It is also possible to take the coastal walk from one village to the next village and then take a return boat trip back to La Spezia. More

Monzone is a small quiet town. But the rail link to aulla means you can travel all over Italy. A must is the bar in the woods. Basic food and good wine. Looking forward to our next visit to this very pleasant apartment.
