Rented this peaceful cabin for the start of my wife’s retirement. The road to cabin from Frogtown Rd is just as described. Dirt, bumpy and 0.7 miles long. Cabin was creekside and close enough to hear the water from any bedroom. Everything was in good working order and kitchen was well-stocked with all essentials. The grill uses charcoal so invest in a bag if you plan to grill. There is a fire pit that is well stocked with hardwoods. In the house there is a woodstove but we didnt need it as it was Summer. However we could not get the stove door to close. I appreciated not having a TV in the bedrooms as it kept us all in the common area or porch in conversation. Would recommend that owners invest in a surround sound system as the TV was difficult to understand due to acoustics in the cabin. We did not catch fish big enough to keep but that could have been due to the fishermen, flies, bait or time of year. Instructions for leaving were simple and practical. Definitely would recommend.

Cabin was exactly as described. Very clean and secluded. We had deer visit each morning of our stay. We will definitely stay again if we find ourselves in the area.

We were looking for a peaceful cabin, surrounded by nature, off the beaten path. This home was better than we expected. It was spotless and super well supplied with almost everything you could possibly need. They really took the time to think this through. The layout of the house was excellent and very comfortable. Everywhere we turned (inside and outside) there was a comfortable place to hang out. The firepit area was a great place to relax, every night and while others where walking in the stream/river. Unfortunately, we did not spot any bear. We did see some rabbits, lightning bugs, and a friendly king snake. Oh, and our 10 year old grandson caught crayfish. I would not count on good trout fishing directly on the property during June. We visited an old gold mine and a nice winery, but we much preferred simply hanging out at the property versus spending any time in Dahlonega itself. We plan to recommend this retreat over and over again. Great job and continued success. P.S. - We drove a rented 2-wheel drive Dodge Durango up and down the incline, in rainy weather, without incident. Just be careful and have a steady foot on the pedal as you climb.

We had such a great time staying at Frogtown River...
We had such a great time staying at Frogtown River Retreat! The house has everything you'll need for a comfortable stay, and plenty of room to spread family out. Access to the river is easy and the water is fun for the family to play in with waterfalls just within sight. The cabin is conveniently located near Dahlonega and other quaint mountain towns with all types of fun attractions, such as the North Georgia Zoo and wineries. The last day we just wanted to stay in and just enjoy the cabin all day; needless to say it was hard to leave. We are already planning to book again in the fall!

The cabin is really well done and perfect for a family. We brought our nanny and the downstairs was perfect for her, providing her own private space and private bath. There was even another coffee station for her downstairs, which was really a nice touch. The firepit area with the river was absolutely EPIC!! The pictures make it look great but seeing it in person is really amazing. We hope to come back to this retreat many more times. It is truly one of a kind.

Cannot say enough great things about this place! The property was amazing… next to the river with a cool fire pit and hammock. Loved sitting on the porch in the morning drinking coffee and watching the deer and the evening drinking wine and watching the deer. We hiked, fished, visited several wineries, shopped in Dahlonega, made reservations and had lunch at Wolf Mountain Winery, Made reservations and ate our anniversary dinner at Montaluce Winery, so delicious. The cabin was so welcoming we enjoyed just hanging out there chillin! As the three days came to an end we wished we could stay for three weeks! We will definitely be staying again! Thank you Melissa for you hospitality and allowing us to enjoy your place…we will definitely stay again!!

We rented this cabin for my husband getaway 60th bday celebration with the family. The house with that river view was absolutely gorgeous. It looked even better than on the pictures, was stocked up with everything we needed and even more. It was nice to have all these extra blankets in every room to use for all of us. The house is decorated with very good quality furniture and had personal little touches for a season. The jar with candy left to be used was a pleasant surprise. Bethany was very good to communicate with for getting the answer or comment/respond to our request within15 minutes. Extra items such as baby high char and crib were provided. My daughter said she never stayed in the cabin where refrigerator had an ice so it was nice to have that. :) Thank you, Bethany for letting us use your lovely cabin. Hope one day we will be back.

The home is beautiful, and the river just adds views and sounds that restores your soul!!! Plenty of space and so many amenities that were provided. Communication was excellent and prompt. We did not experience any issues or problems with the property. Amazing time and we cannot wait to do it again :)
