Brielle House is a beautiful 3*** bungalow which is ideally located within 5 minutes walk of Mountmellick town centre. There is a shop close-by. This is the ideal base for hill-walking, heritage trailing, the Heritage Golf & Country Club (10 minutes drive), Mountmellick Museum (walking distance).

Sleeps 4-6 people. Private Car Parking. Many other historical attractions are within easy reach of the house.

This is a great dog friendly cottage with a beautiful garden. Upon arrival the cottage was toasty warm from the stove which was really appreciated on a chilly evening! The hosts were lovely and we highly recommend this to anyone!

About the neighbourhood
As early as the 1400s there was a small community where Mountmellick is located now, in a bend of the river Owenass. The foundation of the town we see today was laid by members of the Society of Friends, also known as Quakers. In 1659 William Edmundson settled in Mountmellick along with other recent converts.

Mountmellick experienced a boom in 1836 when a branch of the Grand Canal linked Portarlington to Harbour Street, Mountmellick. Passenger boats brought in shoppers, while merchant boats distributed beer, textiles and other Mountmellick wares throughout Ireland.
