Great location for appreciating the wildlife, having an activity holiday, sightseeing or simply relaxing. Situated on the Isle of Cumbrae this spacious ground floor holiday apartment is situated only 100 yards from the waters edge. Millport sports a beautiful sandy beach, with tropical palms fronting the promenade and yachts moored out in the sheltered bay. From here you can explore the charm of a seaside town with café’s, shops and bars and bistro. A haven for wildlife, Cumbrae attracts migrant birds from around the world, and the flora of the island is equally varied with a visit to the island’s Marine Research Station with museum and aquarium a must. Millport is also the home of Europe’s smallest cathedral and Britain’s narrowest house. Me and my wife spent a lively few days here. The accommodation is first class and had everything we needed. The decor is in excellent condition and Alistair and Lisa were excellent hosts. Looking forward to our next stay in the summer.

About the neighbourhood
Some call it “The Jewel in the Clyde” others “The Island of a thousand bicycles” – and some just refer to it as “Our wee bit of paradise” There’s so much for everyone on the Island of Great Cumbrae so why not come across in 2017 and decide for yourself. From sailing, canoeing, wind-surfing and golf for the sports enthusiasts to leisurely walks, bowling or just relaxing on our safe, sandy beaches – you’ll find it all within the island. It’s just an 8.5 minute ferry crossing from Largs on the Ayrshire mainland and Largs is is just an hour away from Glasgow by car, train or bus, and a bus service meets every ferry arrival to whisk you in to Millport town centre.
