Das Rieder Hausli (the Rieder 'little' house in the Swiss dialect) is a Victorian style recently built home with four bedrooms [each with en-suite bath]. The main floor has the Hydrangea bedroom with twin-xl and king beds [also with en-suite bath (with a laundry off of it)], the kitchen and Great Room. There is a heated finished garage and gas grill (plumbed to the house) on the deck. The up stairs has three bedrooms; the Lilac Suite with Queen and two twins, the Poppy Room with a king bed and the Buttercup Room with a queen bed. All three bedrooms have en-suite baths and antique roll top tubs.
Das Rieder Hausli is on Silverton's Quality Hill where it takes advantage of the magnificent views of the San Juan Mountains but is within walking distance to down town where there are many fine shops and restaurants.

When you arrive, manager Nicole will give directions to the house and let you know how to get in (key code or just left unlocked). The welcome notebook/folder will be on the kitchen desk, it has important information about laundry, trash etc. Also restaurant suggestions. Please note: So you wont be to ask you to adjust your days of stay; make sure that your check in day isn't a checkout day of the previous guest or the check in day of the next guest. (In other words don't try to check in or out on a day where a colored bar is on the calendar). Those days are needed to clean and prep. If the guest count goes over 11, we can accommodate, but there is an $8.00 per night per person extra charge.

Silverton is our favorite destination (and das Rieder Hausli is the only place we stay) when looking for beauty all around and a peaceful break from big city bustle. It doesn't matter which way you look from this house on the hill, the view is...More

About the neighbourhood
The three ski areas are: Silverton Mountain just 6 (10 k) miles north, Purgatory Resort 23 (37 k) miles south and Kendall Mountain right here in town which can be seen from Das Rieder Hausli. The Durango-Silverton Narrow Gauge RR comes to Silverton from first of May to the end of October.
Getting around
Please note: with our realtor's recommendation, we have re-opened our calendar for booking through 2019. However, with our home for sale and a pending vacation rental to B&B change, there is a possibility that any up coming vacation rental booking could be canceled or changed to a B&B. We then would give 30 day notice in order adjust this change or find another vacation rental. (If sold, our vacation rental home will not transfer to a new owner). However a new owner may want a B&B to continue.

Airport: Durango [S] or Montrose [N], Colorado; both 62 miles away.: 100.0 km
Railway: Durando Silverton Narrow Guage Train : 0.5 km
Guest will be given directions to Das Rieder Hausli just before arrival to Silverton. Parking won't be an issue, you'll find plenty of parking on site for your vehicles and trailers. If bringing ATV/OHVs do not unload them. The nearest airports are both 62 miles from Silverton; south to Durango or north to Montrose.
It is recommended to bring a four wheel/all wheel drive to get up snow packed Tenth Street in winter. You may need chains. If you want to drive San Juan county's famous jeep trails, bring or rent a jeep [or high clearance vehicle with center transfer case].
