Interaction with guests
The cabin has a key box and guests are provided with the code the morning of their reservation, or prior to their arrival. I live on the 7 acre property on the other side of the road (on the river) and am usually available to provide assistance, as needed. I can also provide information and resources to guests as to great places to visit, local restaurants, events, things to do, and areas for fishing, kayaking, rafting, etc.

About the neighbourhood
Rustic while having all the comforts of city/suburban living. The area is very historic areas with world class fishing hiking, rafting, kayaking, boating on the lakes, and overall outdoor recreation enjoyment. Beautiful throughout the year with very manageable snow in the winter with snowshoe hiking and cross country skiing (Scott and Oregon Mountains, and boarding, skating and skiing at Mt. Shasta Ski Park. There are wonderful water water related activities in the spring and summer (Trinity River, Lewiston and Trinity Lakes, Whiskeytown Lakes) such as kayaking, rafting, SUPing, hiking, or just relaxing and taking in the views of the area.
Getting around
The neighborhood is a mix of locals and retirees who live here or visit their second homes in Poker Bar. Some residents live on the river and some up in the hills. It's fun to bike/walk up and down Reo Lane, Bridge Road, and Poker Bar West (public road even though there are homeowner 'private' signs) and/or swim in the area lakes and river. You can kayak all along any part of the river. It's best to use larger rafts on the river and inner tubes on the lakes. Whiskeytown Lake is about 18 miles to the east on Hwy 299 and is a little warmer water than the other lakes and simply beautiful for all water fun. I have a parking pass for guests to use as needed. Trinity Lake and Lewiston Lake are equally beautiful and well used.
