Consisting of four bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, this home will comfortably accommodate 10 guests. The main bedroom features a king coil queen bed, with a sublime ensuite offering views of the native bushland behind the property, plus walk in robe. Two bedrooms feature trilogy bunks (double bed with single up top), with the fourth bedroom offering a king coil king size bed or the option of two single beds.
The kitchen is stocked to feel like a home away from home. Slow cook, stir fry or sizzle your way to a fabulous meal with cooktop, oven and microwave. Plenty of plastic ware for the little people in your lives and dining outdoors, plus salt and pepper, cooking spray, foil, cling wrap supplied for your convenience. If you’re not on duty keep the chef company in the open plan kitchen/dining area as you admire views of the country side from each window. Coffee pod machine and arrival tea/coffee amenities are also provided.
In the cooler months enjoy a cosy log fire (with all wood provided), or just switch on the split system for instant warmth and comfort. Stretch out on the plush leather sofa for some screen time in front of the 55 inch HD TV, or plug your favourite tunes into the portable speaker and dance like no-one’s watching (did we mention the privacy and seclusion?).
Deluxe hotel quality linen and towels are provided for each guest. For stays exceeding 7 nights’ fresh linen and towels are provided on a complimentary basis. Laundry features LG washing machine plus all the things you’ll need to keep your house in order after a day at the beach!
Pets that are clean and flea free are most welcome and permitted indoors on non carpeted areas.

Interaction with guests:Â Our farm is adjacent to Country House Retreat, so as hosts we are close by and on hand if there is anything you need throughout your stay. If you're traveling with children we are happy to bring our farm animals over for a visit (goats, sheep and cows). They may even be grazing in the front paddock during your stay!

Memories were made!!
What a fantastic venue for our family celebration. Kim and Steve a wonderful and responsive hosts. The house is gorgeous and the beds comfortably sleep for 10 people. The house also easily accommodates 10. Everything you need is right there. The spa was wonderful. The kitchen had everything you needed, we use the barbecue, and although we had great intentions of using the pizza oven, we just had too much to do! We absolutely loved staying here and will definitely come back again. Highly recommended!

Country Getaway
Just do it! The name says it all .. a real getaway yet close to excellent food and exquisite vistas ! House has everything possible you would require for a group or family holiday .. wake up to kookaburras, sheep and beef grazing and we even saw a ginormous wombat!!
Spacious comfortable house (and beds- high priority on my list ) with an outdoor spa even a pizza oven AND you can catch yabbies in the creek if you fancy !
Kim and Steve (living very close by ) have really covered it all thank you both ..

60th birthday getaway
I had my siblings come away to celebrate my birthday. There was 8 adults and we found the house very spacious . You wanted for nothing especially in the kitchen. The beds were very comfortable, and the extra towels for the spa come in handy. The outdoor area is a great spot to relax and enjoy the views. I would highly recommend this place.

Lock down Heaven
We relocated from Melbourne to live in East Gippsland during Lock down. This was not a first stay and decided to re book The Country House. Our plan was to have our Adult Children and Partner join before heading off to a 3 month break in Queensland. Like all of us another year of plans going pear shaped for Victorians. While our children did not join us, we took advantage of staying at The Country House Retreat. Then due to lock down we extended, extended and extended. It was not 3 months in Queensland but a dam great substitute. Our 2 little sausage dogs loved the open and protected area and Kim and Steve are excellent hosts. Dabbled in the pizza oven and just loved the seclusion of the property. Anyone looking for a break will not be disappointed. We all need a break in 2022.

Beautiful retreat
Our family have been looking forward to this stay for 12 months and it was everything we hoped for and more.
Secluded property with everything you need, and love that it is pet friendly.

Ideal location and property
This was the perfect place for us to have a three generation gathering. The halfway mark for three different families coming from very different directions.
We had the most beautiful weather and there was so much to do in this stunning part of East Gippsland.
The accommodation was ideal for all our needs and all our requirements.
Kim was so thoughtful and accommodating for my son who uses a wheelchair. Very much appreciated.
The house and property provided so much for so many age groups, ranging from 3 to 70.
A property, house and location I would highly recommend and hopefully we can come back to again.

Peaceful tranquility
Lovely stay at this guesthouse, we came for Michelle's birthday celebrations just up the road at Franks house & this was the ideal 'escape' from the madness. The house is warm, cosy and comfortable with lots to do (if we'd had time!). We did use the Spa but not the Pizza oven unfortunately, next time. Would highly recommend this lovely retreat, the hosts were very helpful and the pricing was very reasonable, thanks Kim.

Tranquil country house
Third year we've stayed at this property and will book again. Lovely peaceful setting, easy access for our parents and lots of exploring for the great grandchildren. House is very welcoming, lovely linen and towels, great outdoor area with spa, pizza oven and outdoor fire. Love it.

East Gippsland is renowned for its beautiful coastal and acquatic landscapes, native wildlife and amazing nature based experiences on offer.
Access to the Gippsland Lakes is just 5 minutes drive from our property, where the full array of water based activities can be enjoyed - swimming, fishing, kayaking and boating. Our private jetty is also available for guests who wish to bring a boat. The famous 90 mile beach is just 15 minutes drive.
Local farmers markets on every weekend allow the opportunity to purchase fantastic local produce from our region.
It's less than an hours' drive to visit the incredible naturally formed underground caves at the Buchan Caves Reserve, a must see for your visit to East Gippsland.
Getting around
Your own car is the best way to take advantage of our region, which is the largest in Victoria and offers some amazing sightseeing, scenic drives and beautiful coastline.
If you're coming by public transport then the nearest train station is Bairnsdale. Car hire is limited in our region but taxi services are available. There are a number of private charter companies also operating if you're traveling as a small group.

Nungurner is located in the East Gippsland region of Victoria, approximately 3.5 hours drive east from Melbourne along the Princes Highway.
The closest train station is located 25 minutes drive from our property at Bairnsdale. Taxi services are available however it's best to have your own vehicle to make the most of the scenic drive options in our region.
Country House Retreat is a 10 minute drive from Metung and 15 minutes from Lakes Entrance so you can easily pop in to get all the supplies you need during your stay, but enjoy being away from the holiday crowds. There are always weekend markets on in the region and beautiful beaches and bushland to explore which we will be happy to point you in the direction of. There are also some fantastic biking trails in our neighbourhood if you're seeking some adventures on two wheels during your stay.
