Caution steep hill, not for the faint of heart. Swim or Fish off the dock in clean fresh water! The space The Property is secluded with a long road to the Cottage and Clear Lake from Highway 17 East. The rented area has separate access, two bedrooms, master bedroom with Queen size bed, second bedroom, single bed with off the floor double high double air mattress, living room, dining room, full kitchen, breakfast nook/laundry room with washer. ATTRACTIONS, RESTAURANTS, GROCERY SHOPPING, GAS STATIONS, FISHING, PICNIC, KAYAC, ICE CREAM SHOP, LINKS TO NEIGHBORING TOWNS, EVENTS, WHAT TO DO. RESTAURANTS: Kosmo's Pizza (Thessalon) - The owner Renee is amazing. Food is highly recommend. Kid friendly. 5 Star. Enjoy! Pier 17 Restaurant: Blind River Beautiful Restaurant serving Lunch and dinner. IceCream and Shopping: The Yellow Butterfly Trading Post Campground I personally love love love this place if you're a shopper, female geared to, you will love it too. Inventory of beautiful eclectic, one of a kind, clothing, shoes, handbags, hats, just gorgeous, a bit pricey thou. Beside this shop is also an ice cream shop with the most delicious ice cream flavors. I recommend chocolate-peanut butter ice cream cone! Tell them Brooke and Karen sent you! :-) FISHING Basswood Lake, Huron Shores, ON P0R, Canada We hear there is good Fishing here! .9 miles away. Also, Clear Lake has good fishing, where you will be staying. Fishing right off our dock! City/town information Huron Pines Golf & Country Club Located in Blind River. If you like to Golf, this may be for you! Approx. 14.8 miles away. 😁 Blind River, Ontario P0R 1B0 Lower Cost Gas Station Broken Canoe Trading Post This is a gas station with a little Mart. Anything you need quickly for automotive, and even low cost cigarettes, this is the place. Mississagi River Picnic Ground Picnic Here! Scenic Views. This is a beautiful fast-moving river. I believe it's a bit shallow. My friends had gone kayaking here, even with the blowup Kayak. Grocery Store, Blind River Hutton's valu-mart This is a pretty big grocery store with all fresh produce, meats. Dollar Store Right beside Grocery Store. Inexpensive fun stuff! More than $1 thou! Cool Events: ( as per our incredible, most recent guest, Jeff, and family! Thank you, Jeff!) Lumberjack day in Blind River seems to be every Civic Long weekend and appears to be a big festival, same goes for Community Day in Thessalon. Museum in Iron Bridge is a good little pit stop and a great way to get to know the area better. (Highly recommend this) THE 12 SIDED BARN!!!!- Jeff says, I don't know if my inner farmer is coming out here but this was a cool visit for me and was only about 10 mins up the road towards Thessalon. They appear to only be open on Saturdays from 9am - 2 pm and it includes a Farmers Market (produce, art, baking), Crafts and Coffee. I know weird but fun fact, there's only 4 of these in Ontario. Thank you Jeff! and so close to our property. Beach's in the area: Thessalon Beach - Could be the best beach around and only 18 mins from the cottage, "we were all dumbfounded when we got to this beach every time around 11 am thinking it would be packed as there is a trailer park just behind it but nope NOT A SOUL!" Says Jeff! Sand bars allow for a lot of shallow water. Little Basslake Beach - Fishing area solely. Fourth Sand Beach (Blind River) - this one is worth the 25 min drive. Beautiful stretch of sand bars.
