The fully equipped kitchen area in the Hut has a dresser,a 2 ring gas burner, ship's toaster and locally handmade woodburning stove which will keep you toasty warm and can also be used to heat kettle/pans. The Treebog/washroom a few feet from the Hut houses a washbasin feed by rainwater and caters for simple toilet and washing needs (see photos). Rebecca has her own private patio area overlooking stream and mountain - rural, peaceful and private. Ideal for walking, birdwatching, reading, painting/drawing, dreaming, stargazing, writing, romantic break, retreat or simply getting away from it all. Please note: this simple accommodation - no electricity, no hot running water, no fridge. We provide a freezer box with ice packs from our freezer if required. Water for cooking, washing-up etc is from our own spring via an outdoor tap: we provide bottled spring water for drinking if you prefer. Bathing can be done in the Treebog using kettle heated water - or you might like to take a bath in the stream. Lighting is battery lanterns, LED lights, torches, safe candles. Provided in the price: all bedding (inc spare blankets) and towels, 2 hot water bottles, all washing products (all eco friendly), candles, spare batteries, picnic blanket, books, reading lights, playing cards, recycled looroll, firelighters, kindling and one basket of logs (for further requirements we ask for £5 a basket). Bed linen is fairtrade organic cotton; the duvet is oganic merino wool. All interior and exterior decorating is with eco paints. There is a firepit for bonfires just outside the Hut.More

Fantastic

About the neighbourhood
Rebecca the Shepherd's Hut is situated in the heart of the Preselis, whose hills stretch from Crymych to Dinas, and whose highest peaks measure 1758 ft, making them officially mountains. The area is pleasingly remote and unspoilt, with much common land (as opposed to heavily farmed areas). There is excellent walking to be done in these hills, and we provide maps of some of the walks you can do. With a mountain bike you can also cycle here using specific routes (www.newportbikehire.com). There are stone circles, standing stones, an iron age fort and many other points of interest in and around these hills: the bluestones of Stonehenge came from Carn Meini, an easy walk from Rebecca.
