A unique and thoughtfully designed property has been recently constructed in the perfect location to take advantage of the world famous Waternish sunsets, fine dining at the Lochbay Restaurant and the traditional Highland ale house, the Stein Inn, both 5 minutes walk down the hill. It should be noted that Lochbay has just been taken over by the MichelĂ­n starred chef Michael Smith of Great British Menu fame.

The property has a key store so you can arrive and leave without having to worry about meeting anyone. We are available locally if something goes wrong and of course always happy to answer queries or concerns by phone or whatsapp.

About the neighbourhood
The village of Stein is in the north west corner of Skye located on the B886. It is 8 miles from Dunvegan and 22 miles from Portree. Stein itself is a conservation village which was designed originally by Telford as a model fishing at the end of the 18th Century. Our house overlooks the village from up high.

The village boasts the renowned Loch Bay Seafood Restaurant and also the oldest inn on Skye, the Stein Inn. It is home to a wealth of beautiful shorelines to walk along, as well as forestry walks to enable you to see the amazing wildlife including eagles, otters and corncrakes.

Ferry: Armadale: 80.0 km
From the bridge or the ferry, take the road to the north of the island through Portree, following the signposts for Dunvegan. Before you get to Dunvegan, turn off down the peninsula signposted 'Waternish'. The house is on the right above the road above the village of Stein. If you put IV55 8GD into your Satnav it will take you to the road end, with our house, 'Salt Winds', signposted at the turn-off. The house is the wedge shaped larch clad modern construction just as you go up the hill, the second property on the left.
