East Rhidorroch Lodge

1 of 35
Cabin -
6 Bedrooms , 3 Bathrooms , Sleeps 11
Ullapool, Scottish Highlands, Scotland
East Rhidorroch Estate is 9,600 acres of remote and unspoilt beautiful Scottish Highland scenery which is all there for you to enjoy. Come and watch the Red deer roaring (in September/October), the salmon jumping and the eagles flying. Fishing for wild brown trout and salmon on the river and three lochs with boats is included in the rent. After a day on the hill, enjoy the new wood fired sauna. Thanks to the surrounding hills, there is no mobile phone reception.
So just switch off and enjoy the company of friends or family. It's a perfect escape from modern life

We are an Organic family run farm, we make our own electricity and try to be Eco friendly.

The private road is 8 miles long, 6 miles of it is gravel (and potholes). Driving down to the village takes approximately 30 minutes. Drive carefully.

No Internet TV or mobile phon...

East Rhidorroch is a truly magical place. Our entire group was captivated by it. The children (ranging from 4 to 12) loved the freedom and space and participated with huge enthusiasm in swimming and river-racing on inflatables (Iona kindly lent us her unicorn!), fishing from...More

About the neighbourhood
East Rhidorroch is an excellent base for walking and photography holidays and is a haven for birds and other wildlife. One of the regions most remote Munros, Seana Braigh is accessible by foot from the lodge. For more gentle walks there are various paths along the glen to the many waterfalls, woodland or to the bothy on the Estate. There is a wealth of different walks in the area perfect for enthusiasts, families, or dog owners depending on your ability and desire. We have many miles of tracks, roads and trails ready to explore on your mountain bike. The track leading through East Rhidorroch from Ullapool leads all the way to the East Coast affording some magnificent views and breathtaking experiences.

How to get there
Airport: Inverness: 102.0 km
Railway: Inverness trainstation: 90.0 km
Ferry: Ullapool: 13.0 km
Coming from Inverness: Take the A9 north from Inverness to join the A835 to Ullapool. When you reach Ullapool, pass the fuel station on your right and follow the main road which turns sharp right. Continue north on this road for a further half mile then turn right into the Morefield Quarry entrance (just before bridge). From here, it is now an 8 mile private track, mixed of hard surface and tarmac, which is not suitable for low slung vehicles. Drive straight through the quarry and continue up through the glen. After the first four miles the road becomes a gravel track, continue for another four miles, through the sign posted black gate to the car park (flat grass area), walk across the swing bridge and 200 metres to East Rhidorroch.
