Burnbrae set in the heart of the Scottish Borders, is quiet and peaceful yet only 3 miles from the historical town of Kelso with its majestic abbey, delicous restaurants, large cobbled square. The self catering one-bedroom cottages were sympatheticaly created by conversion of our farm steading. Each cottage is all on one level, light and airy with plenty of space,ideal for 2 extra beds available, please ask, generously equip for 2 or 4. From the dining area of the living room, there is direct, level access to a south-facing conservatory with magnificent views across the secluded garden, river and the Tweed valley to the Cheviot hills and the border between Scotland and England. Watch the fantastic native wildlife including deer, hares, our resident heron and woodpecker from your cottage.

This is the 2nd time that we have stayed at Burnbrae. Two years ago we could only manage a short break and had wanted to come back to stay for a week. This is by far one of the cleanest places we have ever rented....More

The kitchen has a fridge/freezer, hob and an oven/grill/microwave. All bed linen and towels are provided. All have a smart TV, DVD player, mini Hi-Fi, radio-alarm clock, and a hair dryer. The cottage has central heating throughout and and a wood-burning stove in the living room. We will lay the fire and light it on request or at an arranged time so that there is a bright glow to welcome you on your arrival or on return from an outing. We provide a supply of home grown firewood in the living room and you can help yourself to more from the wood store just off the drive. The cottage is central heating throughout, is well insulated and is warm even in the coldest weather. The cottage has a heated drying room.

Burnbrae is located in the heart of the Scottish Borders, 3 miles from the picturesque, abbey town of Kelso. Kelso is regarded as one of the most charming and beautiful towns in the Scottish Borders complete with cobbled streets, large market square, elegant Georgian buildings and of course the River Tweed and Teviot which are well known for their spectacular fishing. Kelso has many fantastic restaurants and a farmers market. The farmers market and musical events are held in the square.

The local area has many golf courses including Kelso, the Roxburgh and the Hiersel. The Kelso Race course is between Burnbrae and Kelso, near Floors Castle.

The Border Union Show Ground in Kelso has many different types of events. Kelso Civic Week is held in July each year.
