The garden is lush green and utterly peaceful, planted with towering palm trees and flowering plants. In the heart of the garden lies the inviting 25-meter swimming pool where you can swim laps while kids have water fun in the shallow wading pool, separated from the main pool by stepping stones in the water. After a cool off in the refreshing water, soak up the sun to catch that gorgeous tan to take home with you, or take a daytime nap in the shade of a parasol.
Villa Gils houses a total of 4 air-conditioned bedroom suites. The master bedroom is located upstairs, beneath the stunning alang-alang rooftop of the main house and adjoined to the upper breezy balcony with magnificent ocean view. The perfect spot in the villa for relaxing, reading or indulging an in-villa spa treatment to the sound of the sea. Guests will sleep perfectly on the quality king-size bed draped by a white mosquito net and the en-suite bathroom features an open-air design for bathing and showering beneath the starry night sky or in the early morning sun. The master suite is located side by side to the twin-bedded junior suite that can be configured into a king-size bed, making it an ideal family compound. Two more restful villa suites are found on the ground level of the estate, each adjoined by a private veranda that looks out onto the swimming pool. Both of these rooms feature king-size beds and en-suite bathrooms with outdoor shower facilities. Extra baby cots are available free of charge for guests staying at Villa Gils.

Paradise villa with best staff ever seen
We stayed for 8 days at the villa with a family of 6 adults and 2 children. It was a wonderful experience. From the warm welcome when we arrived until the last moment, the staff under leadership of Wayan did a wonderful job in making you happy. The villa was perfect, clean and we cannot address any suggestion for improvement. Staff organized very good excursions (snorkeling, white sand beach, water palace, Besakih temple, sunrise hike). Teak fast and dinner were delicious, we choose for western breakfast and Balinese dinner. That was every time a pleasant surprise. So absolutely something to recommend, especially if you are interested in real Bali life, culture and nature.

Villa Gils
An amazing huge villa with wonderfull garden and swimming pool
The staff is very welcomming and kind and looking for satisfying all your requests.
Wayan gives good advices for discovering east part of Bali. Good meals prepared from all the staff.
Thanks so much to Karmi, Wayan, Kadec and Ketut who made our stay very enjoying.

Fantastic Stay
We enjoyed 6 relaxing nights at Villa Gils as a family of 2 adults and 3 teenagers. The villa has been very well maintained and is well laid out. The location is very peaceful in the small village of Mendira. The village has a few small convenience shops were you can grab beers etc and there's some good local restaurants within walking distance. Candidasa is about a 5 minute drive away, check out Vincent's restaurant for a great meal.
The staff at the villa are amazing, nothing is too much trouble and they can all cook up a storm. We only ate a handful of meals away from the villa, as the food was so good and prices charged for lunch and dinner were value for money. Meal times were a highlight.
The pool is huge and theres a smaller section that would be perfect for small children, the large section has a shallow and deep end which gets to about 1.6m deep.
I have no hesitation in recommending this villa. If you're sick of the crowds in the south part of Bali, do yourself a favour and come up to Candi, Its a fantastic spot and really reminds me of the Bali I used to come to when I was young back in the 80s. No one hassling you as you walk down the street, just friendly faces and a chilled out vibe.
Bonus tip - Take a drive up to Jemeluk bay in Amed, the snorkeling off the beach is world class.

Beautiful villa in quiet village
Three generations had a wonderful week at Villa Gils!
The villa is just as beautiful as in the pictures and the rooms and facilities wholly as described.
The staff were really friendly and helpful. Breakfasts were great and the choice of (optional) lunches, dinners and drinks were made to suit all ages (old, middle and young).

Outstanding in every way
We booked Villa Gils for 8 nights over Christmas and I have to say it was the most amazing place which delighted and impressed all of us - 3 teenage boys, older parent and myself and husband. From the spectacular pool, to the immaculate layout, superb bedrooms, gorgeous open living areas with ceiling fans to make the most of the balmy evenings (hardly any bugs too), delicious breakfasts, friendly and completely unobtrusive staff, lunches, dinners, drinks, snacks, assistance from the wonderful Wayan and her amazing staff - I highly highly highly recommend this fabulous place. Candidasa is a welcome change to the hustle and bustle of Legian and Seminyak, the pace of life in East Bali is easier, slower and reminiscent of the Bali of years ago. Do yourself a favour and try this place, like us, you will be so pleased you did.

Paradise in Bali
We stayed 5 days with our friends in the villa. Our trip was for 3 weeks and we did various villas arround the island. Ville Gils and the especially tthe team lead by Wayan became always our reference.
The best food was coocked by her team. The nicest team, yes the bench mark towards other places was set very high. WE particullary enjoyed the breakfasts and dinners nea the pool. Just relaxing and shilling out. If we wanted to visit seomthing, Wayan would be the best organiser and take care of everything. Our son went for 3 days to Gilly islands and she did all the bookings which made it so easy for them. It is an absolute must and we give a 5 star note to this great place. Thanks a lot and we hope to be back soon. Mark and Sabine

Most wonderful family holiday, this place is a must DO!!!!!
I can not praise this place or the staff more, our family holiday here was outstanding and we can't wait to go back!! From the moment we were picked up we were treated so well and when we arrived at the pristine villa and met the gorgeous staff we instantly fell in love. We learnt so much about the village and surrounding areas and were able to get a true understanding of the culture. Nothing was ever too much trouble for Wayan and her fabulous staff, from arranging tours, a yoga teacher, daily massages, special fruits and the most wonderful food every day!!! We definately felt like royalty and we can not wait to go back!!

Slice of Paradise
Just finished 5 nights at Villa Gils. An amazing luxurious stay in a villa that felt like home. Wayan and her lovely team looked after us so well we didn't want to leave.
The rooms are amazing, but also private when travelling with other couples. The pool is huge and bigger than most resorts.
The location is a great treat away from the hustle and bustle of town!
Would most definitely recommend to others as 5 star and will definitely be back.
