Extremely Unpleasant
Booked this place for 10 days, paid a booking deposit prior to arrival and booking was confirmed for the 2 rooms.
Our flights from Manila were delayed by 4 hours plus so our checkin was around 4am in the morning.
The lobby security guy struggled to find our details. After approx 15mins wait we were given our 2 rooms. No checkin documents were provided to us at this time.
Torrential rain was gushing into the elevators except for one which was only just useable but seemed to be under some sort of repair and was filthy dirty inside. Something you would see on a construction site.
Both rooms provided were not very good to say the least. Floors were dirty, bathroom floor tiles were stained and dirty.
Toilet bowl in the double room was dirty
The bedside tables still had drinks stains from previous guests.
No bottled water provided in either room.
No closet for hanging clothes in the double room only a small cabinet available.
Clothes draws still had rubbish and plastic bags inside from previous guests.
The fridge was dirty, smelly and had brown water in the drip tray from the freezer defrosting.
All cooking and eating utensils in the kitchen areas were in bad condition.
Under the kitchen sink was disgustingly dirty.
Floor mats were all very old and filty dirty.
After seeing the state of the rooms we were obviously not very happy at all.
At approx 4:30 am the owner, manager, owners brother or who ever he was, and his security guard knocked our door and demanded we fill in a Transient Move-In Form!
We advised that we were tired and wanted to sleep and the forms could be complete later in the morning.
The owner, manager or who ever he was, became rude and was extremely un welcoming.
We then were told that our 2 girls in the other room had already filled in the requested form with out us being there! This was totally unacceptable to ask minors to fill out hotel documents!
The conversation then became heated and we complained about the status of the rooms and that we would be checking out in later in the day before the normal check out time.
He then told us no more talking that we need to leave immediately! He was kicking us all out at 4:30am!
He made calls to another owner and to confirm that we had to leave asap!
He would not give us 1 hour to repack our bags.
Needless to we packed and left, lots our deposit and will never return to that revolting place with revolting owners again.
The only decent thing to come out of this situation was that the security guard assisted us to eventually get a taxi to another hotel as I think he felt sorry fr the 4 of us.
We have plenty of photos as proof of how bad this p[lace was.
The owners should beamed of themselves for running such an establishment, and
I would say that anyone who reads this review stay away from the MesaTierra Garden Residences in Davao!
