Cozy, clean ,tastefully furnished apartment situated in the city centre of Mombasa Island. This 1st floor 2 bedroom apartment is fully furnished, has a well equipped Kitchen, a spacious living room as well as 2 balconies to enjoy the outside space and view of the city. It is right opposite the Uhuru gardens and only 2 minutes walk to the gigantic elephant tusks, which is one of the famous landmarks in Mombasa.Fort Jesus and Old town is only 3-5 mins on local 'tuk tuk' transport. From here most beaches will be about 15-20 minutes drive depending on traffic.

Well furnished but...

My family and I njoyed our stay at the Salmac apartment. It is well furnished, with cosy sitting area, good internet, nice bathroom and good bedrooms. It is located in a convenient location and getting around was easy as local transport is just outside the apartment, and it was very easy to direct drivers. However, it is located next to a mosque that was very loud especially in the mornings and evenings. In addition we experienced lack of water on several occassions, and although the caretaker was very helpful, it ended up delaying our trip on one day and we had to buy water in jerrycans from the roadside to bath with. The mattress on the bed we used was very soft,and we ended with back aches. The door to our bedroom couldnt lock due to a loose top hinge, and although I complained about this to the caretaker, the door was never fixed and we had to grapple with trying to lift it so that it could lock, at least for privacy. The washing machine is hard to use, and there was no manual. Overall, it is a nice place to stay, if at all the challenges I have highlighted could be resolved (exept for the mosque of course as it is beyond scope) Paul.

Your concerns above have been well noted.We at Salmac apartments aim to make our guests as comfortable as much as we can hopefully next time you visit if ever, u wont experience any of the challenges you did. The door hinge is repairable and its in the repair job order.As with any other machinery, once u know how to use the washing machine,then its easy to manipulate and i wasnt aware that the manual is missing.Will try to get it somehow and write out simple instructions for its operation.I have never had complains about the mattress this is the first time someone mentioned about the softness to me.Most people arnt bothered by it,i will wait for more reviews to see if it needs changing. Last but not least, There is a water shortage in the whole of Mombasa city.My caretaker does a great job of making sure there is sufficient water for my clients to use and the only option we have for now before this issue is rectified by the county is to buy water in jerrycans, fill it in our water tank and pump it to supply water in the apartment.I am sure you would appreciate that he did a good job trying to keep up with this as you were also a big group. The mosque, i am with you there, i dont like the noise myself but there is nothing i can do about it :) Otherwise thanks for choosing Salmac executive apartments, hoping to see you again if ever you and your family visit Mombasa again.I am sure the positives surpasses the negatives and this is the most important thing.We always aim for 5* and we are getting there with reviews such as above.Thank you.Salome
