The space

The apartment is decorated with both traditional and contemporary Tibetan Antique furniture and Tibetan carpets. Some of the furniture and carpets date back to late 18th century which my grand parents had purchased way back when they used to barter salt for other goods in Tibet-Nepal border.

Book it if you want to enjoy an authentic contemporary Tibetan experience....

About the neighbourhood
Its a holy pilgrimage site for Buddhist and Hindus. However, Swoyambhu area is a melting pot as it has unity in diversity, with all religions and cast living in the area. Swoyambhu is also where most expats live in Nepal as it is a quite but a touristic place with lots of restaurant and eateries. Swayambhunath Stupa is the most ancient and enigmatic of all the holy shrines in Kathmandu valley. Its lofty white dome and glittering golden spire are visible for many miles and from all sides of the valley. Historical records found on a stone inscription give evidence that the stupa was already an important Buddhist pilgrimage destination by the 5th century AD.
Getting around
Public transportation is just 1 min walk from my place. It cost between $0.20 - $0.30 cents to travel one way by public micro bus and $2 - $5 to travel by taxi to any place within Kathmandu area (most popular being Thamel, Patan, Durbarmarg, Bhaktapur, Boudha) which are all very easily accessible.
Taxi stand is also a minute walk.

How to get there
Airport: Tribhuvan International Airport, Kathmandu: 8.0 km
As you approach the arrivals gate please visit the prepaid taxi counter and ask for a taxi for Swayambhu area (specifically Kimdol).
The journey should take approx. 35 minutes (8 km) to reach my property as the airport is quite far from the city.
My property is located in the very beautiful area of Swoyambhunath, called Kimdol. So when the taxi reaches either Bhagwan pau or Buddhapark area, please tell the driver to ask people around for Natural history Museum or Nirvana School. My property is just exact opposite road from the Museum.
