Varenna provides luxury, self-contained accommodation in Leura, the Blue Mountains, NSW.
Your Blue Mountains stay will be relaxed and comfortable as you'll have this grand house all to yourself. Sleeping up to three couples in total comfort, the house has unsurpassed luxury and old world charm with the modern conveniences of today, all within a 200m stroll to the heart of Leura village.
The lavishly appointed and meticulously restored Edwardian residence is set on 1800 square metres of surrounding gardens. Built in the Federation Queen Anne style circa 1906, Varenna retains its original period features, such as leadlight windows, decorative high ceilings and an antique claw-foot bath (although you may prefer the double spa bath after a day of mountain activities!).

Great location, 5min walk to Leura main street.
Comfortable and well appointed.
Host, Lorraine, is excellent and very helpful. Have previously stayed in another of her properties and would again.

Charming cottage full of wonderful surprises
What a charming cottage in a quaint part of the Blue Mountains. We enjoyed a lovely girls weekend staying at Varenna. Lorraine had organised everything that we required for an enjoyable weekend. There was even bathrobes and slippers … we didn’t want to leave. We would definitely stay at Varenna again.

Exceptional Leura Getaway Destination - get together and have a fabulous relaxing break at this mountain retreat home!
Wow - I just had a three day getaway with a friend from interstate at this beautiful property. From the moment I walked through the door I was blown away by this gorgeous place. It’s like stepping back in time and into a relaxing dream. So much effort has been put into restoring this home with luxury touches in every room right down to the big fluffy towels, central heating for the cold nights and big comfy four post beds. Our host Lorraine made every effort to make our stay unforgettable, so many thoughtful touches - we didn’t want to leave. Perfect for any stay in the mountains if you want luxury, space and a little bit of peaceful bliss.

Restful and Decadent Long Weekend
I was delighted to return to MW, this time to Varenna. This property is beautifully appointed and you want for nothing as Lorraine is a very responsive host along with her trademark attention to detail. It is wonderfully positioned in Leura with a short flat walk to the Mall, and ideally located to reach all the main sights and sounds of the Blue Mountains. Early September was the time to catch all the surrounding gardens in full bloom, including the many cherry blossom trees. Perfect long weekend choice!

Home of Grandeur
A repeat visitor over 10 years, we are always wowed at the beauty of Varenna. All the little things that make it so welcoming, from the soft music playing as you enter to the warmth of a gas log fire to greet you. The provisions supplied are very generous. Huge spa and beautiful high beds for a restful sleep. 10 minute stroll into Leura to many shops, restaurants and train. In awe of what Lorraine has created.

Amazing experience, Lorraine is an exceptional host, this property has everything you need and more it is so comfortable and beautiful , with its period features and gardens .
The beds are so comfortable with fluffy pillows and crisp sheets .
Location is so close to Leura mall , a very easy less then 5 min stroll .

Charming Leura Accomodation
We had a wonderful girls weekend at Varenna. The house is absolutely charming, spotlessly clean, well appointed and perfectly located. We loved the little additions of chocolates, robes, port & breakfast provisions. The customer service was also outstanding. I would definitely stay here again.

Perfect weekend away in the Blue Mountains
Varenna is a stunningly beautiful property. The location is fantastic, just a few minutes stroll from Leura restaurants, cafes and boutique shops. The linen, fluffy bathrobes, slippers, chocolates, wine, port, delicious breakfast supplies made our girls weekend away truly memorable. Thank you Lorraine, we will be back!

Welcome home - well appointed 1900’s house that steps you back in time whilst keeping the modern comforts
Lovely presented 1900’s house which has been appointed with beautiful period furniture and decor. Despite the cool of the Blue Mountains weather we were always warm with the central heating, fireplace and heated floors. An excellent house for a family or to share with couples. Mountain Whispers certainly makes you feel welcome the moment you step through the front door. Thanks Lorraine for your hospitality.

Immaculate Leura Blue Mountains retreat

A grand historic home that sleeps one to three couples in style. Self-contained for total privacy.
Travellers flock far and wide to visit Leura, in all its majesty and glory. Spring truly sees the Village come to life in all its spectacular show of cherry blossoms lining the street and annuals bursting with colour. Varenna is the perfect location. No need to drive, just stroll to the Village or if the train is your preferred mode of arrival, the station is only a few minutes away.
Getting around
Best way to see all the local attractions and to get around for the duration of your stay is the Blue Mountains Explorer Bus (a red London double decker bus) which allows you to hop-on and hop-off for the duration of your stay. Get a real bird's eye view of the Blue Mountains whilst sitting on the second level - a beautiful experience complete with commentary.
There are 31 stops around the villages of Leura and Katoomba so you can pick up the bus at every major location.

How to get there
BY CAR - travel by car is the most popular means of transport to the Blue Mountains. The entrance to the Blue Mountains at Glenbrook/Lapstone is only around 50 minutes drive from Sydney.
FROM THE CITY - Follow the signs to Parramatta. The M4 Motorway starts at Strathfield and takes you through to Lapstone in the Blue Mountains.
FROM RICHMOND - An alternative route to the Blue Mountains is via Bell’s Line of Road which starts at Richmond and takes you through to Mount Tomah and Bell, and across to Mount Victoria. This drive is extremely pleasant through the vast Blue Mountains National Park, a contrast to the main thoroughfare of the Great Western Highway.
FROM OUTER WEST - If you are travelling from the outer west, follow the signs to Lithgow, then through to Hartley where you will enter the Blue Mountains via Victoria Pass taking you straight to the top at Mount Victoria.
DISTANCE FROM SYDNEY to Leura is 119km’s and 122km's to Katoomba.
BY TRAIN – It is a 2 hour train ride, sit back, relax and take in the sites. Train services run almost hourly from Central Station to Wentworth Falls, Leura., Katoomba, Medlow Bath, Blackheath, Mount Victoria, Bell, Zig Zag and Lithgow. BY COACH - Relax and take a coach tour to/from the Blue Mountains. There are a number of tour company companies located within the Blue Mountains and Sydney region.
