Edzell is an architect designed holiday house situated on the shores of beautiful Lake Jindabyne. The house looks directly across the water to a panoramic view of the Australian Snowy Mountains. The house is set within a very large landscaped garden full of native plants which attract many types of beautiful Australian birds. The grounds also have a half tennis court, swing set and water frontage. The house has many stone features including a three way granite fireplace, a granite bar and high ceilings. Many rooms have magnificent views and offer a daily show of sunsets, changing weather, flying ducks or moving clouds.

Lake front home with Magic views across Lake Jindabyne.
Fantastic accommodation with incredible lake views. Perfect for watching the sun set with a glass of wine. Easy to relax and chill here while leaving all your work life stresses behind. Easy reach to Perisher and Thredo ski fields and Jindabyne restaurants. Absolutely loved it and will definitely return and stay here again.

First time, not the last
I spent a long weekend bringing in the new-year at Edzell. The house sets right on the lake making it easy to go for a swim in the summer heat and has excellent access to the hiking and biking trail that surrounds the whole lake. Facing west the sunsets were easily enjoyed ( and never disappointing) from the back patio. During my stay I was accompanied by 5 others and the spacious layout of Edzell made it easy to find a quiet space for yourself while the living and common areas were also inviting and encourage great company. A beautiful location and the access to the Snowy and proximity to the shops makes this place an excellent choice for large groups for both Summer and Winter.

Summer visitors from the USA are very welcome guests at Edzell. The many mountain walks in the alpine high plains are very beautiful and popular. Holidaying at Lake Jindabyne during the Christmas/New Year period is a great way to escape the cold weather in the northern hemisphere. We hope to see you and your family back again for another visit.

Magnificent Lakeside Holiday House
We have stayed at Edgell many times now since 2011. The house is situated close to Jindabyne on the lake, handy to the town and the ski fields but just far away to for it to be quiet and tranquil. You may fish for trout immediately in front of the house on the lake or better still take walks on the lakeside, enjoying the wonderful ambiance of the surrounding environment. The house is large and the owners have spared no expense in making it superb. The beds are very comfortable and all the amenities first class. We loved the open fire and watching the sun set every night across the lake to the west and over the Snowy Mountains. We have already booked to return again soon.

Fishing for wild brown and rainbow trout directly in front of the house is enjoyed by many of our guests. Lake Jindabyne is also stocked with Atlantic Salmon - some of which have also been caught and photographed. Having returning guests is a one of our primary aims and very important to us. Thank-you for your review and we hope your stay this June is a very relaxing one.

Lakefront Elegance
Having travelled to Thredbo/Perisher since the age of 12 (I am now 26), I can without a doubt attest to this property being the reason I keep coming back! Located right on Jindabyne lake (and a mere 7-8 minutes drive from the main shops), this beautifully presented lodge looks (and feels) like a home away from home. Spectacularly positioned and immaculately tended to, the lodge exudes the character of a traditional ski lodge mixed with the beauty of modernity. Outside of innumerable amenities (tennis court, gaming room, outdoor BBQ) and bedrooms, the main dining and lounge areas offer ample space and a beautiful stone fireplace that will help you drift into a slumber as the floor to ceiling windows permit the setting sun to shine beautifully off the lake and into your heart. I have had the privilege of being here in both summer (for fishing) and winter (for skiing), and will continue to come back for many years to come!

Relaxing Lakeside Holiday
We loved the cosy fireplace and expansive views to the snowy mountains across the picturesque Lake Jindabyne. From the comfort of the living room we could watch the snow showers advancing and receding to the mountains. The house was very comfortable with a well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed a few home cooked meals, and when we were tired of cooking there were plenty of great restaurants in nearby Jindabyne to discover. The bedrooms and bathrooms were clean and comfortable. The roomy living and dining areas accommodated our group very well. The garden was really pretty - there were even flowers out while we were there in winter. Walks around the lakeshore were meditative and relaxing. We drove around the surrounding countryside finding historic villages and beautiful vistas across the mountains. Thank you, we enjoyed our stay very much!

Fabulous home close to ski fields and other activities
Edzell was an amazingly equipped rental property in a picturesque setting close to the ski fields and a great many options for shopping and dining. The property itself was extremely well equipped and provided a wonderful environment for a relaxing holiday for family and friends.

Lots of ski fields nearby with the choice of driving or catching the underground ski tube. We like having the choice of where to ski depending on conditions and not being restricted to one ski resort. Thank-you for your review.

Outstanding water front accomodation with magical views
The house was exactly as described. Water front home with beautiful sunsets over the lake and Snowy mountains and located in a beautiful garden. A games room with snooker table, Foxtel and choice of movies. Great fun for all the family. The bedrooms were very comfortable and the house was well appointed with every thing you needed to make a great holiday. We had fun trout fishing on the lake, croquet on the lawn and rode along the bike track on the waters edge. I liked the house because it feels like a home not a holiday rental.

A Rare Place
We have stayed at Edzell a number of times now. It's no surprise to learn that other reviewers are repeat visitors. It is fantastic accomodation which has made our holidays in the snowy incredibly special. If you could envisage a perfect retreat my guess is that it would closely resemble this place. Rolling lawns, secret gardens and a tennis court. Views looking out to a shimmering lake and vast mountain ranges. A roaring fire surrounded by cozy couches and a bar. A games room equipped with a full sized pool table and satellite TV. Less than an hours drive to a selection of ski resorts and 10 minutes drive to town. This place ticks all of the boxes. Perfect for a family or a big group of friends. You would struggle to find better value anywhere else. Restorative, luxurious and memorable!

Jindabyne can be reached from Sydney by car which takes about 5-6 hours. Interesting towns along the way include historic Goulburn ( site of a giant merino statue), Bungendore ( famous for its woodwork and art gallery) and the nation's capital of Canberra. Canberra has many national museums and galleries.
Fly/Drive
One hour flight Sydney to Canberra. Pick up car or 4WD from Airport then an easy 2 hour drive along the Snowy Mountains Highway through high country sheep farms and gum forests.
