Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Absolutley fantastic stay, couldnt have asked for a better break away!
My wife and I came up from Durham for a quiet break and to explore Northumberland a bit more, we arrived at the park and we were taken away at how lovely the site is, the lodge looks onto a quiet little stream, so so peaceful! we spent Saturday night in the hot tub with the complimentary bottle of fizz provided and I have to say it is one very large hot tub!
The weather was perfect on the Sunday so we had a bbq in the afternoon after a long days walk, the decking area is huge, a few friends we know in the area came down for the afternoon it was bliss!
The interior of the Lodge is tastefully decorated and so cosy, we weren't expecting all the little extras such as fresh milk in the fridge and biscuits! the kitchen was well equipt with everything you need to cook a meal for the family. Games and dvds were also of good selection!
overall I would say it has been one of the best breaks me and my husband have had for a long time. The host Jon paul was fantastic, the communication was great, lovely chap - we will be back!
thank you

Fantastic little find, very charming lodge. Had a fab stay!!
Cedar creek lodge is a very charming lodge in bockenfield park. We were going to stay in the centre of morpeth as the reason for our trip was to visit friends in Newcastle however ended up booking the lodge instead and so pleased we did! its pet friendly which is perfect as we travel everywhere with our dog now, we took our well behaved collie mags and she loved it too. The hot tub is wonderful for relaxing and the views of the country woodland makes it even more special. One thing I must mention also is that it is spotless clean which is one thing I always look for in reviews when I stay anywhere. We have already booked up to visit again in july looking forward. Highly recommend!

Cosy & Fabulous
Jon-Paul presented a lovely Lodge called Cedar creek , it certainly delivered more than we expected . Beds were comfortable , Wifi, Coffee machine ( lush) , nice All purpose microwave Grill and to finish off it was the HOT TUB ! It was the best one I’ve ever been in . After exploring Northumberland by day we relaxed in our enormous Hot Tub ! Melting all the aches and pains of walking away .
Lovely quiet location to see the sights and explore from . You can’t not love this Lodge . Enjoy . We will return.
Thanks Jon-Paul

Wouldn’t recommend booking this lodge unless you want your booking to be canceled two days before you’re supposed to be
Wouldn’t recommend booking this lodge unless you want your booking to be canceled two days before you’re supposed to be going away!
Me and my partner had this lodge booked for a 3 night staycation, unfortunately we were let down two days before we were due to come away, as the lodge owners had emailed to tell us that previous guests had caused damage to the lodge. Apparently the entire flooring needed to be removed and replaced in the living room and kitchen, as the previously guests had pulled the radiator off the wall and caused flooding. We were pretty disappointed but obviously thought this can’t be helped!
We ended up finding another lodge and booked through completely different people, coincidently it happened to be on the same park/site as our original damaged lodge.
One day we decided to drive past the lodge that had been ‘damaged’ to have a look at it and to our surprise there were two people sat in the hot tub and their dog was running around freely! The next day we decided to call back at the lodge and speak to the people in there. We asked when they’d booked the lodge to see if it was a double booking etc. The lady who was staying there let us know that Jon-Paul was a ‘friend’ and she asked if his lodge was free as it was her birthday weekend and he had told her yes it was! (Meaning our weekend away that had been booked for 3 months and paid for in full was canceled at the drop of a hat. There was absolutely no concern for us and that we may struggle to find somewhere else to stay with a hot tub just two days before going away, especially during covid times and people not managing to get abroad, and not to mention the fact we had to take time off work for this trip).
While we were speaking to the couple we were able to have a look through the caravan window and of course the living room and kitchen flooring were absolutely fine! We have photo evidence of the caravans condition and evidence of the whole conversation between ourselves and Jon-Paul’s friend. We originally booked through booking.com so we wanted to take this further with them however from what we can see he has completely removed his listing on their website and jumped onto air bnb I’m not sure if this is a permanent thing or if it has been done strategically so we are unable to complain.
Overall I think Jon-Paul’s care towards his guests is none existent, he has zero professionalism and obviously thought he wouldn’t be caught out on this one. I just hope no one else has to go through the stress we did to find another lodge at such short notice. We also ended up out of pocket because there were no lodges in the area for a similar price, our new lodge cost us an additional £200
