Chez-Georges in the Aude

Holiday Rental House -
2 Bedrooms, 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 4
Courtauly, Aude, Occitanie
Chez-Georges is comfortably located in a village of 50 people in the southeast corner of France, 7 hours straight south of Paris. We are the quiet, affordable hideaway that’s always great to come home to after your day of exploring – in Toulouse, Carcassonne, Mirepoix, Montpellier, or even Nice or Barcelona for the more adventuresome. We have a very well-appointed, comfortable accommodation for four – two up and two down, in a two story converted stone barn (1790’s) – cathedral ceilings, tile and marble floors, 2 fireplaces, living and dining rooms, a large garden (lawn) and quiet that is interrupted only by the church bells, and occasionally the nearby working farms.
The Languedoc region is fast becoming the new Provence, with its wines, and historic Cathare castles – 6 of them an easy drive from the house - and we are pleased to pro...

Chez-Georges is now among our top favorite places to visit and stay. The home, set in a very quiet little village, is lovely and just as it appears in the photos. What the pictures can't capture is the warmth, hospitality and thoughtfulness of its owners...More

About the neighbourhood
We are well situated in the beautiful southeast of France, 12 kms from Mirepoix, Limoux and Chalabre and an easy drive to Carcassonne, Toulouse, Perpignan, the Cathare Castles trail. The Tour de France is in our area again this year, and there is cycling for all on the Voies Verte, a 30 km. ride on an abandoned railway line. To the northwest is Castelnaudry, where you can spend the day on the famed Midi Canal, or enjoying the Cassoulet which originated there. Always lots to see and do, and the owners are always next door, to help you with any questions or needs you may have.
