The Boathouse is a contemporary self-catering cottage offering understated luxury accommodation for up to four guests. The property is situated centrally within the beautiful village of Riding Mill in the Tyne Valley. The cottage has been built adjacent to the owners property allowing an added personal welcome.
The local pub and Station Coffee Shop are a 5 minute walk away across a Roman Bridge from the Boathouse.

This newly constructed cottage opened in July 2018, boasts two well sized bedrooms, both provisioned with super-king beds which can also be provided as singles. The master bedroom has ensuite facilities while the second bathroom boats a large,sleek shower with 2 head settings.

The beautiful setting with a fenced garden, stunningly appointed new cottage and gorgeous stream beyond the garden, makes the Boathouse a lovely safe holiday let and convenient for Hexham, Corbridge and Newcastle. I stayed with my 11 year old boy and 8 year old girl...More

Great communication from owner with fuss free arrival. Great peaceful location. Luxurious interior, comfiest of beds. Lovely to sit out on the deck with a book or watching the birds. Ideal for visiting surrounding areas by car, foot or train. Hope to return.

Stayed for a 3 night weekend break at this very modern lodge, lovely setting in a very nice village .good base to explore the area. The lodge is a credit to the owners who are close by if you need any information about the area....More

About the neighbourhood
The Boathouse provides an ideal base to explore Hadrian's Wall and Roman sites of Chesters , Housesteads and Vindolanda . Corbridge, voted in the top 10 for a winter break in the Guardian , is only 5 minutes drive away . Enjoy browsing the numerous independent shops and cafes and visiting Corbridge 's own Roman Site.
If you fancy a days shopping the Metro Centre, Europes largest shopping centre is only a 25 minute train ride or drive away. Or visit the vibrant city of Newcastle with its cultural quayside and various museums.
Getting around
The Boathouse is served by excellent local transport. The local station in Riding Mill is a 5 min walk away with regular trains to Newcastle and west along the Tyne Valley to Carlisle.

Regular local express buses stop in the village for fast access West to Hexham and East to Newcastle.

Access from East:
Enter Riding Mill village coming off the A68, heading over the rail bridge take the first left before you get to to the Wellington pub. Take first right down Church Lane and continue past the church and you'll find St James Close on the right. The Boathouse is adjacent to Number 4 'Stepping Stones', follow the drive down and park on the gravelled area adjacent the property.

Same as above but take first right after Wellington pub.
