Grade II listed Artisan Hall is a truly unique Cotswold stone property, peacefully located at the end of a lane, opposite the beautiful church of St Andrew's, in the village of Toddington. The hall is the largest part of what was originally the stable block for the nearby Toddington Manor, a very imposing, grade I listed manor house, built in the 19th century by Charles Hanbury-Tracy, 1st Baron Sudeley, whose marble family tombs can be seen in the church. Toddington Manor is now owned by Damien Hirst, the renowned artist, who is restoring it to use as a gallery for his works. The village of Toddington is peacefully located, in the heart of the beautiful Cotswold countryside, just four miles from Winchcombe, six miles from Broadway and 11 miles from Stow-on-the-Wold, making Artisan Hall well placed for exploring the surrounding countryside or visiting the many beautiful towns and villages of the Cotswolds. Artisan Hall has many unique character features, with the centrepiece of the property undoubtedly being the large great hall, which was once the village hall. The owner has furnished this Cotswold stone walled room in an interesting, eclectic style, including a Bedouin tent, free-standing hammock and a large wood-burning stove in the hall. There are many other character features throughout the property, including stone mullion windows, wooden and flagstone floors, oak beams and two further real fires. The unique character of the hall is complemented by its modern facilities, including wireless internet access, and an Apple TV. The hall sleeps a maximum of eight people, in four bedrooms, with two bathrooms (one en-suite). There is a lovely, enclosed garden in front of the hall, overlooking the beautiful local church and off-street parking is available for a number of cars. Artisan Hall is the perfect venue for friends or families looking for a unique property, in a stunning setting. House Rules Security deposits A security deposit of £250 is payable, which is returned after the letting period, subject to an inspection of the property. For the avoidance of doubt, guests are requested to leave the property in a reasonable condition, consistent with the property's appearance upon arrival. In the event that the owners, or their appointed housekeepers, have to spend additional time tidying up after your departure, then the cost of this extra time may be deducted from your security deposit. Occupancy The maximum occupancy of the property, including its grounds, is eight guests, at any point during your stay. Unauthorised over occupancy is a breach of our terms and conditions and may result in the cancellation of your booking and additional charges. Please consult us prior to booking if you wish to discuss the possibility of having more than eight guests at the property. Infants who sleep in a cot do not count towards the occupancy figure, however, due to space restrictions, the occupancy figure may only be exceeded by up to two additional infants. Pets Regrettably, pets are not accepted. Bed linen and towels One set of bed linen per room and one set of towels per guest are provided. If you would like bed linen or towels to be changed during your stay, this may be organised and charged at a supplement. Bed sizes and configurations Bedroom 1 (1st floor): King size bed Bedroom 2 (1st floor): Double bed Bedroom 3 (ground floor, off the hallway): Super-king size 4-poster bed Bedroom 4 (ground floor, off the main hall): King size bed Bathrooms Family bathroom: Bath with shower attachment, walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin Bedroom 4 (en-suite): Walk-in shower, toilet and wash basin Downstairs cloakroom (off breakfast room): Toilet and wash basin Heating, fuel and logs The property has a gas central heating system. Please note that the cooking facilities at the property are an Aga and a microwave; there is no conventional cooker available. Parking The property is in a very quiet, secluded location and has off street parking for a number of cars. Child friendly facilities A travel cot (without linen) and a high chair are provided. The property's garden is enclosed and well away from busy roads, however, children should be still be supervised outside at all times. Initial consumables A small quantity of initial consumables is provided for your convenience (eg. tea, coffee, sugar, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, soap, washing powder, toilet rolls, etc), however, you should not expect the quantity of these provisions to be sufficient for the duration of your stay. Accessibility, health and safety This is an old, Grade II listed property and has many character features, including a slightly steep staircase, with a turn in it and no bannister, some low doors, and two floors, which could pose difficulty to guests with limited mobility, or carrying babies, both in terms of their general movement and their ability to quickly exit the house in the event of an emergency. The smoke and CO detectors operate on a sound only basis and, therefore, those who have serious impairment of hearing may not be able to hear the alarm systems and could be at risk. Hen, Stag and other same gender groups Unfortunately, Hen, Stag and other same gender groups are not allowed at Artisan Hall. If you would like to enquire as part of a same gender group, please contact us, as these may be accepted at the sole discretion of the property owner. About the neighbourhood
The Cotswolds are characterised by attractive small towns and villages, built of the underlying Cotswold stone (a yellow oolitic limestone). In the Middle Ages the wool trade made the Cotswolds prosperous and some of this money was put into the building of churches, leaving the area with a number of large handsome Cotswold stone 'wool churches'. The area remains affluent, which has encouraged the establishment of many high quality pubs, restaurants and antique shops.
Getting around
The Cotswolds is a rural location and whilst there is access to public transport, it is highly recommended that you have a car.
