Casita La Huerta

Overview
Villa -
2 Bedrooms , 2 Bathrooms , Sleeps 4
Province of Malaga, Andalucia
This stunning Casita which translates as cottage is located in a Hamlet belonging to the incredible hilltop village of Comares.

It is modern in build but traditional in style and has lovely arches and rooftop terraces that help make it a little more special than the average newer builds and looks as though it has stood in its grounds for decades not just years.

The cottage lends itself to being a honeymoon or romantic retreat for couples as it is positioned in a lovely secluded spot with one neighbour below, comfortable positioned far enough away with no one looking into your space or pool area.

The peaceful location is enhanced with lovely valley views and river walks in the dry summer months.

There has been no expense spared on the interior fittings and the quaint Moorish influenced furniture and fabrics combined with chunky wooden...

Loved it from the minute we arrived. Very well-equipped with pretty much everything you could need. Fabulously peaceful, totally private with no overlooking neighbours. So many places around the house to enjoy the sun or seek out shade. Clearly the owners really care about this...More

We loved this place the moment we walked in. We didn't move from the house for an entire week other than to take some blissful circular walks. So peaceful, everything has been thought through and it feels like a home and not a holiday rental....More

About the neighbourhood
Comares sits over 700 meters above sea level and has been named in Arabic as “Hins Comrix” which means “Castle on High”.

It is also a town steeped in history and very rich in culture.

It was home to a Muslim rebel leader named Omar ben Hafsum in 9th century AD. And this history of Muslim occupation is still evident in the village today with its inscribed stonework, watch towers, whitewashed houses and narrow cobblestone streets.

A Parish church which was built way back in the 16th century is certainly worth a look. There are also several bars, supermarkets, plazas, a post office and a bank to cater to locals and the few tourists who are lucky enough to have found this great haven.
