Holiday Rental House
The Parsley Holiday home offers self-catering accommodation in the beautiful department of Tarn. The house is 5 minutes walk from the quaint rural village of Cambounes, situated in the Natral Regional Park of Haut-Languedoc, in the foothills of the Lacaune and the Black mountains, in one of the most scenic regions of the south-west of France. The area is well known for hiking and mountain biking and the local town of Brassac has hosted the French championship in mountain biking descents several times. Walking and mountain biking trails criss-cross every corner of the area and the famous GR36 passes right by the cottage. The well known pilgrimage trail Chemin de St. Jacques de Compostelle (GR653) portrayed in the recent Hollywood film 'The Way' joins the GR36 in the communal forest of Cambounes. The area has several fresh water lakes with full amenities such as beach, life guards, restaurant, snack bar & water sports. The beautiful market towns of Catres & Mazamet are only 20 mins drive. Both offer fresh markets, good shopping and great dining opportunities. The UNESCO world heritage sites of Carcassonne & Albi are 1 hour away. The capital of the region 'La ville rose' Toulouse is an hour and half to the west. The Mediterranean cities of Narbonne and Beziers are under two hours drive. The region has a proud rugby tradition and is host to several top league clubs such as Castres Olympique, Stade Toulousain, Albi and Montpellier. There are plenty of other interesting places to visit such as the Sidobre national park (and it's amazing granite rock formations), the Millau bridge, Roquefort, Lautrec, Gaillac, too many to mention here. Come and experience real French living in this unspoilt region. The Parsley holiday home is a renovated stone farmhouse dating back almost 300 years. The accommodation is split over two levels. The first level is accessed from the raised wooden terrace and contains an open living room dining area with corner kitchen and a wood burning stove. There is also a little porch on this level. On the next level there is a large open bedroom, bright and spacy with a double and a single bed. The bathroom is also located on this level. There are double doors which open from the living room on to the raised wooden terrace, where there is a garden table and chairs and a barbeque for your use.More

Interaction with guests
As this location is also our home, we are always on-hand to help out & give advice on things to see in the area etc. We also like to propose some activities to our guests ; for example a Kayak or Canyoning outing or to share a visit to a local place of interest. We usually enjoy a barbeque with our guests at least once during their stay.

About the neighbourhood
Tarn offers a beautiful living environment and is the perfect location for an activity holiday. Nature has kindly provided us with glorious hills and valleys offering an abundance of hiking & mountain biking trails. The rivers and lakes offer canoeing and swimming and water sports. The mountain roads are perfect for cyclists & offer plenty of challenges for the more serious cyclist. But apart from the range of activities it's a beautiful place to spend a relaxing holiday and just enjoy the scenery, the lovely places to visit and the renowned regional foods & wines. Some of the great places to visit from our area; The beautiful city of Albi with it's incredible cathedral (a UNESCO world heritage site / Castres with it's lovely old quarter & the famous Goya museum / the beautiful market town...
