An ideal historic Swiss house for large families and groups, with 1000m2 garden, 5 minute access to public transport, cable car to famous 'Stockhorn' on 6000 feet, 20 minutes from Interlaken. This historic house was built in 1820 and offers a unique Swiss 'Biedermeier' experience in the Swiss Alps. 7 bedrooms and a large living room with antique furniture give plenty of space for up to three families. This historic house was built in 1820 and offers a unique Swiss 'Biedermeier' experience in the Swiss Alps. 7 bedrooms and a large living room with antique furniture give plenty of space for up to three families. As a matter of fact, this house was built for the local veterinary, who became wealthy because of the valley's business with the world famous Simmental cows that have been exported to all corners of the world. The last owners PhD covers the The layout of the house and the exceptionally high ceilings (compared to regular historic houses in the Simmental valley) are a testimony of the first owner's taste and who commissioned the construction to host his large family: they were all very tall. There's a central heating system and antique wood ovens (with precious tiles) that keep you warm and cosy in winter time. A 1000 sqm. backyard, with apple and pear trees and vineyards and the adjacent church give plenty of space to roam freely through the garden with a marvelous view on the surrounding Swiss Alps. The world famous mountain 'Jungfrau' in Interlaken, mundane Gstaad and plenty of ski resorts can all be reached within half an hour. Small authentic shops with Swiss Cheese, bread and all you need to prepare a Swiss Fondue or Raclette are just across the street. Immerse in the 19th century 'Biedermeier' life style of the well to do Swiss! Heinrich Heine-s complete works are available in a 19th century edition...just in case... vY^ vYntage Chalets in the Swiss Mountains House Manual: common sense. Parking: adjacent to postbox and opposite the house. Garbage: separate Alu, PET and glass please, the rest of the waste in grey 'AVAG' bags only into the shack 10m upstreet from the postbox. More grey 'AVAG' bags available at local shop 'Volg'. Blue Tile Wood Oven: wood available in the shack, behind antique brown wooden door. Use bundle of wood only, be patient, it'll take around 2 hours for the tile oven to get warm and it will last for 24 hours! Use fire starters, dump the ashes in the garden (it's a good fertilizer), adults only! Food: everything available in the local 'Volg' shop, 50 meters from the house, very friendly owner, will tell you anything you might want to know...Restaurant 'Linde' 100 meters from the house down street past 'Volg', Swiss Food! Marvelous mountain 'Stockhorn' 10'000 feet: cable car 500m upstreet! Do the dishes and clean the floors, please. Used bed linen and towels: take them off, put them into straw baskets and place them in the laundry room in the basement downstairs. Wash as many as you can, please. More
