This cottage has privacy. We currently have 2 cottages, sharing about 57 acres of property and 900+ feet of shoreline. The second, White Pine Vista Cottage, is over 300 feet away and we left a buffer of trees and brush in between the cottages to act as a privacy buffer. We do NOT rent the two cottages to large groups to share at the same time. Too many bad experiences doing that.
There are horse shoe pits, a sand box and about a quarter acre of lawn at the cottage. There is a dock, with a buoy offshore for tying up a boat (the cottage comes with a canoe for getting out to the buoy and back). Lots of people, of all ages, have enjoyed swimming out front of the cottage over the years.
COTTAGE LAYOUT (there is a video walkthrough on our own website just do an Internet search for discovervr eagle view. It should be the first listing.)
Walk up 3 short steps in on to the wrap around deck. Go in the main door in to the front area/kitchen. The kitchen has a large fridge, stove/oven, dishwasher, microwave and a fair amount of cutlery, dishes, utensils for a rental cottage.
At the far end of the kitchen is the stack-able, full size, washer, and dryer along with the pantry shelving. Turning to the right is a small hall off of which is the main floor bathroom which is between the main floor master bedroom and the bunk bed room.
MAIN FLOOR BATHROOM
This is a 4 piece (tub, shower, toilet, sink). We have at least one blow dryer in this cottage.
MAIN FLOOR MASTER BEDROOM
A queen size bed, dresser, night tables, lamps, closet
BUNK BED BEDROOM
Twin (single) bunk beds. This room is set up for children but adults could sleep in here keeping in mind that there are two single bunk beds. There is a lamp, small table, closet. The closet holds the high chair and play pen (play yard).
Back out on the far side of the kitchen is the dinning room with chairs for 7 people (additional table with 6 chairs out on deck).
Open floor plan family room has a 26' TV, Satellite Package which includes movie, sports channels and XBox 360 gaming system. There is a gas fireplace to the right of the large patio doors that look out over the lake.
2nd Floor
UPSTAIRS BATHROOM
The 2nd floor bathroom splits the two upstairs bedrooms. It has a stand up shower (no tub) a pedestal sink, toilet and mirror.
LAKE SIDE BEDROOM
Contains a queen size bedroom, night tables, lamps, magazines, closet, dresser and a futon that folds down in to a double size bed.
FOREST SIDE BEDROOM
This bedroom has a double size bed, and a futon that folds in to a double size bed. It has a night table, a lamp, closet and computer desk (no computer but it works well if you have someone who needs to do some work).
Back down stairs at the far side of the family room is are the double patio doors to the fairly large deck. There is a Weber BBQ and patio table and 6 chairs. Stairs led down to the cedar shoreline. Note: The shoreline is about 15' above lake level. There are a set of stairs leading down to the water but it is possible to also walk directly from cottage level down to the lake level down a limestone path on the shoreline. There is a video on our personal site of the shoreline.
We provide access to a canoe at no extra cost with 2 paddles and a couple adult size life jackets. There is a set of horse shoe pits and shoes on the property.
Mooring buoy about 40' from dock for 30' or less size boats. Public boat launch approx. min minutes
The cottage is a fantastic place to spend time in every season. Summer is what you would expect from a typical Ontario cottage. Generally nice weather and the lake is a great place to hang out.
Fall/Autumn you will experience the fall colours. This usually happens around the last week of September to early October. The bird migration and Salmon spawning are great nature activities to witness.
Winter, you can cross country ski, snowmobile, ice fish. I'm always amazed at all of the animal tracks that show up shortly after a fresh snowfall.
Spring brings the bird migration back. Great to witness in early spring around mid-April as the edges of the lake thaw as that is where large populations of water fowl hang out during the migration. Rainbow trout spawn in the spring and that is a spectacle to see them jumping up streams.

Loved our stay there. Everything you could possibly need and lots of room for our group of 9. Beautiful spot on the lake and the water was so clear! Loved the way it was run, very professional.
Thanks for everything!
Our third time staying at this cottage. Gets better with each visit. Cottage is everything and more that one would expect in a rental property. Great location to many destinations such as Bridal Veil falls, Providence Bay and Misery Bay. Hope to go back soon....More
This is the exact opposite end of Lake Kagawong from the town of Kagawong. Located roughly between half way between Gore Bay and Mindemoya, slightly closer to Gore Bay at around 15 minutes driving.
We are on a small bay known as Patterson's Bay. We are located near the centre of the island about 15 minutes from Gore Bay and about 20 minutes from Mindemoya and 25 from Providence Bay (very large sandy beach with a board walk)
Getting around
The cottage is about 7 minutes away from the closest town. You'll ideally have a vehicle to get to the cottage and around. Once at the cottage you could enjoy cycling around the island with the cottage as a good central location.
