Casa Dei Tigli is a completely restored stone home of 3 floors located in the lovely old village of Sant' Andrea di Compito, near the walled city of Lucca. The cottage is in the medieval village that the first Camelia tree was brought from Japan in the 1500's from the Borrini Family. Making the village decorated with several Camelia trees that all families have. Each year in the month of March is celebrated a festival in the honor of this Camelia . We have all people from all over coming into the village in this month to see all the geautiful Camelia' s in out botanical garden. A must-see ! The house has a complete kitchen, dining area and lounge on the first floor...the second level consists of a library-living room with comfy chairs, and a desk. This level also contains a full bath with tiled shower. The third floor is a beautiful bedroom, with double wrought iron bed, and antique armoire. The beaches of the Versilia Coast are a short half-hour drive away. The house is accessible for adults but is not recommended for the disabled, because of the stairs. Children are welcome. Notes: No pets, and no smoking in the house. The house is self-catering, next to cottage one can enjoy a great cappuccino with fresh quasant in the morning and fresh juices for your breakfast. In the afternoon happy hour is from 5 to 7. With prosecco and local wines where in the evening one can enjoy a lovely pizza or a great pasta dishes . The Pub serves cold cut and cheese trays and local and different European beers. The house is stocked with all the essentials. 'Welcome' snacks on arrival include a gift of local food items. . More

About the neighbourhood
The Camillia Festival takes place for 3 week-ends in March every year, attracting thousands of visitors from all over the world. There are hiking trails in the Monte Serra hills, walks in the quaint village neighborhoods..Tre Tigli Restaurant is reknown for one of the best pizzas in Italy, along with typical Tuscan dishes...you'll want to eat there several times during your stay. Plus, newly opened Pub that is served with happy hour: locan wines and cheeses and cold cuts. The beaches of the Versilia Coast are a short half-hour drive away.
Getting around
We can provide taxi runs into the city of Lucca , to bus and train station. And back to cottage at a day service . For one that does not want to rent a car.
