Ardmun sits within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park overlooking Holy Lock with views down to the Firth Clyde and over the hills. The house is one of the 6 houses of similar character known as the Tea Caddies built by David Napier in circa 1850 with an original stone staircase leading to four bedrooms with the Master bedroom having a 4 poster bed, with a further double bedroom and two single bedrooms and sofa bed on the ground floor. There is a main bathroom and shower room. The house has electric central heating plus has two wood burners . Downstairs has two reception rooms, kitchen and conservatory. The conservatory has a large dining table with seating for 8-10 people and a wicker suite overlooking the panoramic views. Amazing to see this house again. I lived here in the 1980. You heated the water by coal and a baking pan would not fit in the stove. Mold was everywhere and the walls has 15 layers of wall paper. It was amazing to experience...More

About the neighbourhood
Ardmun sits within the Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park with Benmore Botanical Gardens are glorious gardens with 120 acres of flowers and scrubs in a mountainside setting estiblish since 1863 only 3 miles away. Local walks at Pucks Glen and Kilmun arboretum managed by the Forestry Commission. Many local amenities Dunoon has a swimming pool and crazy golf, local shops and supermatkets. Local salt and and fresh water fishing (licences can be purchased local for fresh water fishing). Cowal games are held in Dunoon in August and the Cowalfest In October.
How to get there
Kilmun is on the Cowal Peninsula access by ferry or road. Western Car Ferry operates from Gourock (McInroy's Point) to Dunoon (Hunters Quay). Or by road from Glasgow A82 or via Erskine Bridge heading to the A82. By Air - Glasgow Airport is about 40 minutes by train to Gourock where a foot passenger ferry operates directly to Dunoon or the car ferry Western Ferries is from McInroys's Point which is 4 miles from the train station. Ardmun House positioned on the shore road 1/2 mile pass Kilmun Church and is next to Old Manse B&B.
