Interaction with guests
We have lived in Dorset for the past 17 years and are happy to offer recommendations on days out, places to eat and good local walks. Our children aged 13 and 11 have grown up in Dorset and so we can advise you on the best family days out, to suit all ages. We respect your privacy, however we live next to you in the thatched house and will be delighted to assist in any way we can.

About the neighbourhood
The remoteness of Piddlehinton, set in the heart of the Piddle Valley, is offset by its close proximity to many of Dorset's most iconic attractions. The 9th Century village, Cerne Abbas, and its famous chalk giant is only a few miles away. Dorset's county town, Dorchester, famous as Thomas Hardy's Casterbridge in his novels is only 6 miles away. The Jurassic coast is only a twenty minute drive away, as well as attractions such as Monkey World and Farmer Palmer's, to name but a few!

A car is useful to make the most of your stay, however a rural bus service operates from the village taking you to local towns such as Dorchester, Blandford Forum, Sherborne and Weymouth. A main line train station is within 6 miles at Dorchester, which serves routes to London Waterloo.
