Rose, our chambre d'hôte has been designed to cater for both the able and less able guest. It measures 36m2 and includes a bedroom area, sitting room area and large private en-suite bathroom. The bedroom contains a king size bed and a beautiful cherry wood armoire (wardrobe) with plenty of hanging and shelf space. The lounge area has a small settee and armchair facing onto the television and dvd player. The en-suite bathroom a large walk in Italian shower which is accessible to wheelchair users (but I'm afraid not motorised wheelchairs), it has a seat and handrail. There is no vanity unit under the sink so the specially designed sink is wheelchair friendly. The WC is also slightly higher than normal and has a handrail to ensure ease of use by all our guests. I am on a bike trip trying to visit farmers. Tim & Vanessa took the effort to invite 4 winegrowers from the village to meet and talk. We had a very nice 'rendez-vous'.

About the neighbourhood
We are in the centre of our village, surrounded by fields of sunflowers & vines of the Grande Champagne region. The grapes, from the vines, produce either the wine or eau de vie for the prestige cognac houses in Cognac, which is only 20 minutes away. We are also 25 minutes from the Roman town of Saintes, 45 minutes from the wide sandy beaches of the Gironde estuary and around an hour from Bordeaux and La Rochelle. Come see and experience our gîtes and region for yourselves!
How to get there
Bordeaux and La Rochelle airports are approximately 1h20 and 1h05 minutes drive. La Rochelle is the more straightforward drive but it is a seasonal airport so is not open all year. The drive from Calais is approximately 7h30 without stops. We usually have 2 - 3 stops and allow 9 - 10 hours. If you are heading to us from the North, then you can leave the A10 Autoroute (motorway) at exit 35 (Saintes) and you are then 25 minutes away. This is slightly quicker and cheaper (toll) than continuing to exit 36. However, you can continue to exit 36 (Pons) where you will find a Leclerc supermarket, should you wish to buy some food before you arrive. From the South, you should exit the A10 at exit 36 (Pons) and you are then 10 minutes away. From here you will pass the Leclerc supermarket at Pons sho...
