Holiday Rental House -
3 Bedrooms , 3 Bathrooms , Sleeps 6
Montaigu-de-Quercy, Tarn-et-Garonne, Occitanie
The stone house, dating from 1880, is a former presbytery for the church, now disused, which forms one side of the pretty, enclosed garden. It is furnished with a mix of antique furniture, Ikea and favourite pieces 'picked up' by the owner at the local French brocantes. Paintings are originals by the owner, her friends and family and beautiful rugs have been collected from her travels to Turkey and Morocco. There is a piano and some sheet music, CD player and variety of CDs - TV, DVDs etc, Scrabble, Cluedo, packs of cards! Also a couple of bikes in the garage for your enjoyment.

The house and garden have been lovingly assembled over the last 11 years of her living here and she is hoping to do occasional house lets whilst away from time to time.

Montaigu de Quercy in the Tarn et Garonne department (82) is less than 2 km...

This house is on a hillside overlooking a tranquil valley. The terrace is particularly relaxing. It is not adjacent to other properties but within easy driving distance of the facilties in the local town. The house itself, unusually, displays several pictures and other art works....More

We stayed with our 3 kids while we explored the nearby winelands of Cahors. The kids loved the two cats, and we loved the quirky characterful ambience of the house and it's contents. We were lucky to have good weather, and evening trips to the...More

About the neighbourhood
The surrounding 'bastide' villages offer much mediaeval history from 13th and 14th centuries, their grid pattern format designed to offer maximum defence against the English during the Hundred Years' War. Lauzerte, Tournon d'Agenais, Monflanquin are just to name a few local ones and the Chateau de Bonaguil is a true fairy tale castle, with a smattering of restaurants and a pottery around its base, making for an interesting day out for all the family, as indeed are the caves at Pech-Merle. Nearby Moissac has a beautiful Abbey and Cloisters, probably founded in the 7th Century, and is on the famous GR65, the Route to Santiago de Compostela which also passes through Lauzerte, about 12 miles away.
